Thank you for joining in with the latest hop from the crew at Around the World on Wednesday. If you haven't hopped with us before, we're a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from every time zone in the world where Stampin' Up! operates. You're here with me, in New Zealand.
Each month we present a different theme to inspire you to create.
This month, our theme is 'Let's Hear it for the Boys!'. Yes, it's everyone's nemesis, the dreaded masculine card!
An unassuming little set called Vintage Tools caught my eye in the 2022-23 Catalogue. While not the kind of set I'm usually drawn to, I felt I could do some good things with it. So, this challenge was a good chance to get it out and give it a go.
I started with an unusual colour combo: Garden Green and Parakeet Party.
I began by blending both colours onto a piece of Shimmery White Card, then spritzed it with water. Once it was dry, I stamped the images in Garden Green and Parakeet Party.
Then it was simply a matter of assembling the card with an angled piece of Parakeet Party DSP on a Garden Green card base. Then, a bit of Linen Thread to anchor the Stitched Rectangle die cut sentiment. Finally, a few 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots completed the card.
If you are interested in seeing more about how I created this background, it is the same technique I used for a card using Forever Fern and shades of blue, which you can see here with a link to a video tutorial.
For more ideas on what to do to 'hear it for the boys' you can visit my lovely stamping friend, Leonie Stuart, from Australia.
If you get lost, or encounter a broken link, around the hop here is a list of participants.
