Paper Players 439

It's sketch week at The Paper Players. I like this sketch and got out of my comfort zone to play with it.

I like a lot of clean, empty space and seldom use DSP yet here I have two pieces in the same card! The Magnolia Lane paper is so beautiful, so romantic, so dreamy, so ... everything that it overcame my determination to acquire no more DSP. When it becomes available with the launch of the 2019 Annual Catalogue in early June, you'll be unable to resist it either!

The close-up photo shows off the textured, almost-linen look of the paper as well as the use of the Subtle embossing folder for the card front.

Good Morning Magnolia stamps, Magnolia Memory dies,Magnolia Lane DSP and Mossy Meadow twine will be available in the new Annual Catalogue, out early June. If you live in New Zealand and don't have a demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. Message me to organise a catalogue.

Here's a look at the rest of the supplies I used. Click on the image to go to my on-line store if you'd like some of them for yourself, or you can message me by leaving a comment or going to my facebook page, linked in the sidebar of this blog.

Freshly Made Sketches 385

It's a busy week for me, since it's class week. The prepping and set up is done and couple of events are already ticked off so it was with pleasure that I made it to my craft room in time to get something made for the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

Having been fortunate enough to make it to OnStage Auckland earlier this month, I've got a box of preorder goodies from the 2019 Annual Catalogue, which will be available to order from 3 June.
One of my favourites is the new set Free As A Bird, so I've used it - and some of the matching Bird Ballad DSP - for this card.

In addition to a beautiful stamp of a group of birds on a bough, the set also has individual leaves and flowers along with this single bird. So I've arranged a cluster of them around the sentiment which is also from the set. Stampin' Blends make the colouring of the images so very easy too.

The photo doesn't really show off the real-life effect of the Subtle embossing folder but it makes the card base look like linen or parchment for a little dash of extra detail.

Free as A Bird and Bird Ballad DSP will be available in the new Annual Catalogue, out early June. If you live in New Zealand and don't have a demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. Message me to organise a catalogue.

As You See It 199 - Design Team Card

Welcome to a new challenge at As You See It. This week, we have a colour challenge. Amanda's given us one that I found to be particularly challenging!

I thought I'd try to go subtle, since Lovely Lipstick and Pineapple Punch are in-your-face kind of colours but somehow, it didn't end up being in the least bit subtle...

This die set, Butterfly Beauty, is stunning all by itself. It co-ordinates with the Beauty Abounds stamp set. It's lovely layered like this but also works well in its separate layers. It can also be carefully cut apart so that you can use small groups, or even single, butterflies. I haven't used it whole like this anywhere near often enough, so I simply layered it using Powder Pink and Lovely Lipstick.

The background is made from a mix of shaving foam, Pineapple Punch inkpad and Powder Pink re-inker. Each of the inks was applied with an acrylic block, in the style of the Kim Jolley

If you'd like to see what the rest of the team have done with this colour combo, visit them at As You See It. Then get out your ink and join in with us. We'd love to see how YOU see it!

If you live anywhere in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up demonstrator, I'd love to help you with ideas and Stampin' Up products. Please message me through my Facebook page, linked in the sidebar of this blog or leave a comment below.

And, of course, you can shop with me from anywhere in New Zealand by clicking any of the products pictured below or the SHOP NOW button in the sidebar of this blog or you can message me.

Colour Inkspiration 54

Welcome to a new challenge at Colour InkspirationIf you haven't played with us before, we're a group of Australian and New Zealand Stampin' Up demonstrators. You can play with us by joining in our Facebook group here which will let you play along, comment and vote for your favourite from the top 5 selected by the crew.

This week, you've got the chance to add some colour of your own to a base of black and white.

I recently attended OnStage Auckland and had the pleasure of meeting up with many of the members of the Colour Inkspiration Crew, which was an absolute delight for me. We even managed to fit in a photo!

While at OnStage, we were also introduced to the 2019-2021 In-Colours and one of them is my 'pop of colour' for the challenge. Let me introduce you to Rococo Rose! Isn't she a beauty?

There's also a touch of glamour from some white glimmer paper, aka Sparkle.

I have to confess that this was not the first card I made for this challenge. The first card, I really liked but started to second guess myself and decided that using grey was stretching the theme a bit far. However, I'm going to share it anyway just because. It uses Good Morning Magnolia, a set that will be available in the 2019 Annual Catalogue.

The challenge will be open for the next fortnight and we'd love to have you join in. Just post a picture of your creation to the wall of the Colour Inkspiration Facebook page.

Next up on our hop is the magnificent Bronwyn Eastley. She gave the most wonderful presentation of a new suite at OnStage and she won't disappoint you with her work for this challenge either!

If you live anywhere in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up demonstrator, I'd love to be yours and to  help you with ideas and Stampin' Up products. Please message me through my Facebook page, linked in the sidebar of this blog or leave a comment below.
