Wrapped Bouquet for CI94

Welcome to a new challenge at Colour INKspiration! We've got such a pretty combination, courtesy of Crew Member, Rachael Lewsley.

If you haven't played with us before, we are a group of Stampin' Up Demonstrators from the South Pacific. Challenges are shown and entered via our Facebook Group page. If you don't belong, and would like to, click here. Don't forget to answer the two easy questions you'll be asked when you ask to join the group.

Each challenge, Top Picks and a winner are chosen by the crew and the winner offered a chance to Guest Design with us for a future challenge.

If you don't have an exact challenge colour, feel free to replace it with whatever you have that's closest. Black, White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and metallics are free colours, as are flesh toned Stampin' Blends.

With that glorious vase of flowers in the graphic, it was hard to go past a floral set so I turned to Wrapped Bouquet, one of my favourite bundles from the January-June Mini-catalogue.

I stamped the floral bouquet and wrapper in Misty Moonlight and coloured it with Seaside Spray, Mango Melody and Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends.  The I used the Wrapped Flowers dies to add in extra flowers and foliage in Crumb Cake and Mango Melody. The background behind the flowers was stamped using the newsprint image from the stamp set.

The bow is from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon combo pack. The sentiment came from the Art Gallery stamp set.

We'd love to see what you make of these colours. You can add your project, see the other entries and look at the Design Team inspiration by clicking here.

Tasteful Touches for AYSI 244

I enjoyed seeing the great entries in the last colour challenge and we're all excited to have Anita Trippi join us as Guest Designer for our next challenge at As You See It.

This time round, it's a 'fill-in-the-blank' challenge. This one had me thinking for a few days: what colour makes me feel the most cosy?

I went round and round thinking about different colours that make me feel warm and safe. In the end, I opted for Very Vanilla. Not only is is cosy by itself, it adds warm and richness to any other colours that it plays with. One of my favourite cosy combos is Very Vanilla, Early Espresso and Gold so I went for that.

Since I wanted Very Vanilla to be the star, I used a Thick Very Vanilla Base with an angled mat of Early Espresso peeping out from the Very Vanilla card front. I've textured that with the Tasteful Textures 3D embossing folder.

I stamped two of the flowers from Tasteful Touches in Early Espresso and fussy cut them out. I used a gold gel pen  to stipple colour the centres. The tattered lace stamp from the same set is repeat stamped in Crumb Cake to create the background. Then I've added in some foliage fronds from the Forever Gold Laser Cut Specialty DSP - and from the looks of this photo, I'll have to go back and attach some of it a little more thoroughly but will have to wait until I'm back home from holiday. 😀

The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings and punched with the Classic Labels punch, shadowed in Early Espresso and popped up on dimensionals.

We'd love to see what your cosy colour is. You can see what the rest of the team have done and link up your entry at the As You See It Challenge site.

Rooted in Nature for Retro Rubber 152

Welcome to the latest challenge at Retro Rubber! This week, we have a sketch from our team member, Claire. The same rules as always apply to this challenge. The most important ones are that you must use at least one stamp that's more than a year old AND give us an indication of the age. That's because, at this challenge, we like to give you an excuse to dig out your older purchases.  The only other rules are to not enter this sketch challenge more than three times and to not link up to more than ten challenges in total.

At first, I was a bit stumped but then I decided that the trail of hearts in the sketch could become leaves - and that led me straight to one of my favourite sets of all time, Rooted in Nature.

One of the pleasures of a challenge like ours is that it gives you the perfect excuse to mix up old and new, thereby giving new life to both.

Rooted in Nature has been around since the Annual Catalogue released in 2018-19 but the gorgeous Forever Greenery DSP is from the most recent one. Yet they look made for each other. 😀

I stamped the log slice stamp in Crumb Cake, fussy cut it and sponged the edges before stamping the sentiment on it. The other leaves were stamped, and sponged. with Pretty Peacock, Shaded Spruce and Pear Pizzazz.

The Whisper White card front was embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder.

You can see what the rest of the team have done with this sketch and link up your entry by visiting the Retro Rubber Challenge site. We'd love to see what you can do and you have until 26 February to play along.
