TGIF 243

The challenge at TGIF this week is to use your favourites from the Holiday Catalogue.

I loved many things in the nearly-concluded Holiday Catalogue but my two favourites were the Christmas Gleaming bundle and Itty Bitty Christmas.

Family Christmas dinner this year is at my sister-in-law's place and she asked me to make some table favours. I turned to Christmas Gleaming and the gorgeous Stampin' Up! pillow boxes.

The copper-accented Brightly Gleaming specialty DSP is so pretty, it needs little else. Just an embossed bauble, a stamped bauble and a greeting and - voila - done! The pillow box, available in packs of ten, make life easy!

The pillow boxes are available still from the Annual Catalogue. Happily, the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set will carry over and the Christmas Gleaming stamps and Brightly Gleaming DSP will be seen again next Christmas.

If you live in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. I can help you with ideas, get you catalogues and provide you with Stampin' Up products. You can leave a message in the comments or contact me using any of the methods listed in the Contact Me tab at the top of the page. You can shop with me from anywhere in New Zealand by clicking on the SHOP NOW button in the sidebar or clicking on any of products below.

So Many Stars for AYSI 215 - Design Team Card

It's hard to believe that this is the last challenge for the year at As You See It. We'll be back with a new challenge on 3 January.

This time, it's 'Fill in the blank' week so all you have to do is create something that brings you holiday joy.

There were so many ways to fill out this blank but I decided that stars and wishes bring me joy at Christmas.

I like the Swirls and Curls embossing folder paired up with stars because it always reminds me of Van Gogh's Starry Night paintings.

Here's the card flat, as it comes out of the envelope...

... but it's got a surprise when you stand it up. Doesn't the Mercury Glass Acetate give a pretty shine, layered up in the centrepiece and backed with some Seaside Spray?

We hope you can find a quiet moment or two in the hurly-burly of the next couple of weeks to show us how you see this challenge. You can join us until Wednesday 18 December.

You can see what the rest of the team have done, and link up to play, at the As You See It Challenge site.

Merry Christmas to All for Retro Rubber

Welcome to the final challenge of the year at Retro Rubber. We've got a festive colour challenge for you and as always, we ask you to use at least one stamp that's a year or more old and to give us the approximate age of it.

Our retro challenges are a great chance to get out some old favourites and to give them a different look when you mix them up with new products. This card is definitely playing with old favourites.

One of my favourites from the 2018 Holiday Catalogue was the Merry Christmas to All bundle, which is still available - just no longer as a bundle. I enjoyed the mix, and range, of the stamped and die-cut greetings.

The Tin Tile embossing folder, also from last year, is another favourite and I'm pleased it's still available. I've given it a light coating of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to add some shine.

New items that give a different look are the Wrapped in Plaid DSP, the Shimmer White embossing powder (a pretty mix of white and glitter) and the gold Designer Element embellishment.

You can see what the rest of the team have done, and link up your entry, by visiting the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog. We'd love to see what you do with these colours!
