Jar of Flowers for Retro Rubber 166

This time around at Retro Rubber, we have an inspiration photo to get you thinking. You can be inspired by the images or the colours or whatever you see in it. Of course, as this is RETRO rubber, you do need to use at least one stamp that's older than a year and give us an approximate age for it.

I've used Jar of Flowers, from the 2020 Annual Catalogue. I got it out for something else recently and was pleasantly surprised to be reminded of the many different looks it offers.

I stamped the sunflower image a couple of times and coloured them with Stampin' Blends. I cut up the second one to add in some extra depth to the bouquet.

The wooden table in the picture lead me to using the wood grain DSP from the In Good Taste pack as a panel and the Timber embossing folder for the circle.

For further inspiration, I used the sketch at Hand Stamped Sentiments and the challenge is open for another few days.

Friends are Like Seashells for FMS 500

When I first started stamping, one of the first challenge sites I discovered was Freshly Made Sketches. Since sketches are my favourite kind of challenge, I've entered there quite regularly. Reaching ten years and 500 Challenges is a real milestone so I heartily congratulate them for achieving it! Let's hope for another ten years of great challenges!

Even though Spring is making its presence felt, Summer still seems a long way off. Since we're all back in strict lockdown, my hankering for a walk along the beach had to be assuaged by getting out one of my favourite summery sets, Friends are Like Seashells.

This is a set that has a lot to give. There are a number of beautifully detailed disINKtive stamps of sea shells that match up perfectly with the embossing folder to give you realistic shells to use. It also has a number of outline stamps that are perfect for colouring and it's those that I've used for this card.

I stamped the images with Basic Gray and coloured them with Stampin' Blends. I've done quite a few more than I used because it was a very theraputic activity!

The embossed background is the new Timber 3D Folder. I used the frame from the Harvest dies for the sentiment, also stamped in Basic Gray.

Merriest Moments for Sunday Stamps 264

I liked the sketch at Sunday Stamps this week and used it for inspiration for one of the new Christmas sets in the July-December Mini Catalogue, Merriest Moments.

Merriest Moments has a matching die set, Merriest Frames, which in addition to outline dies for the stamped images, includes some of the most jaw-droppingly fabulous frames. However, it's such a lovely set that it's amazing all by itself, without the fancy add-ons. 😀

I've used some of the foliage stamps to create a background for a single poinsettia, embellished with a die cut centre piece and an In-Colour jewel.

The background DSP is from the Tidings of Christmas DSP stack. I embossed the panel, using Tasteful Textiles, for extra interest.

This simple and sweet card would be suitable for mass-production come Christmas time, although you could miss out embossing the DSP to speed it along even more.

Update: Delighted to be chosen as a Top Cup at Sunday Stamps.
