Quiet Meadow for Colour INKspiration 120

It's time for a new challenge at Colour INKspiration. I especially hope that you enjoy this one, since I had the privilege of choosing the colours.

If you haven't played with us before, we are a group of Stampin' Up Demonstrators from the South Pacific. Challenges are shown and entered via our Facebook Group page. If you don't belong, and would like to, click here. Don't forget to answer the three easy questions you'll be asked when you ask to join the group.

Each challenge, Top Picks and a winner are chosen by the crew and the winner offered a chance to Guest Design with us for a future challenge. The guest designer this challenge is Sharon Dalton.

If you don't have an exact challenge colour, feel free to replace it with whatever you have that's closest. - for example Night of Navy for Misty Moonlight. Black, White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and metallics are free colours, as are flesh toned Stampin' Blends.

I used the Quiet Meadow bundle for this card - so pleased it is carrying over into the new catalogue!

This combo included my two favourite colours from the retiring 2020-2022 In Colors: Just Jade and Night of Navy. As the colours were mostly strong, I wanted to tame them a little so opted for sponging some of them onto Basic White card. Since Soft Sea Foam is already a subtle colour, I die cut that from the card.

The card front is embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder, another thing I'm delighted to see carry over.

I've used some Polished Pink jewels from the 2021-2023 In Colour Jewels and some Misty Moonlight and Silver twin from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo. Sadly, by the time this challenge ends, these items will have retired - so stock up now in the Last Chance Sale, while you still can!

Visit the Colour INKspiration site to check out the album of Crew Cards for inspiration. You can also add your entry there. We all enjoy seeing what you do with our colour palettes, so join in!

If you live in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. I can help you with ideas, get you catalogues and provide you with Stampin' Up products. Forever Fern for AYSI 273

Welcome to a new challenge at As You See It! This time, it's colour challenge week and we've got a lovely mix of blues for you to play with. As well as the pretty combo, you also have the chance to join us as guest designer in a future challenge if you are our Featured Artist in this challenge.

I turned to my favourite set from the 2021-22 Catalogue, Forever Fern. I'm delighted to see that this set is carrying over into the 2022-23 Catalogue.

I started with a piece of Shimmery White card. I chose this because I like the underlying sparkle it gives.
I used blending brushes cover it in Balmy Blue and Pacific Point, finally adding some Night of Navy around the edges. Then I lightly spritzed it with water to lift some of the colour to create a more mottled effect.

Once the base dried, I cut it with the largest of the Stitched Rectangle dies, then stamped it. I used Night of Navy with the large foliage, Pacific Point with the medium foliage and Balmy Blue for the splatters.

I finished it off with a sentiment from Best Year, which sadly is retiring. I cut a maidenhair fern from Balmy Blue and Basic White then sponged both lightly around the edges with Pacific Point.

The gorgeous gemstones are a special release to coincide with the Waves of Inspiration pre-release, so if you want some you'll need to order them before the end of April.

You can visit the As You See It site to see what the rest of the team have done and to link up your entry.

Waves of Inspiration for Freshly Made Sketches

My craft room is half unpacked at my new house. I managed to get enough unpacked to make something at long last!  I used previously unopened Waves of Inspiration bundle, the pre-release bundle for the 2022-23 Catalogue, and the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches

I used my Stamparatus to mirror stamp two of the birds then coloured all three of them in. I used the new neutral blends for the wood, rope and beaks then coloured pencils for the birds.

Although it's hard to see in the photo, the birds were given a lick of Wink of Stella. This not only gave them a pleasing sheen, but blended the Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green pencils together.

The Waves of the Ocean DSP is glorious, as are the blue and green toned jewels. If you like the looks of these items, you'll need to order them quickly as they will retire at the start of May as they're only available during the pre-release period.

Update: Delighted to be A Perfect Princess at Freshly Made Sketches.

Artfully Layered for Around the World on Wednesday

Welcome to the latest inspiration hop for Around the World on Wednesday. If you've not followed us before, we're a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world, some from every time zone in which Stampin' Up! operates.  Each month we bring you some inspiration around a theme. This month's theme is  From the Market: inspiration from a shop or market.

My inspiration was real serendipity. I rushed out to get some wrapping paper and ended up buying the only one at the supermarket that wasn't a happy birthday one. When I got it home, I realised that it was very close to one of my favourite bundles of the January-June Mini Catalogue,  Artfully Layered.

So here's my wrapping paper.

Beautiful, isn't it?

And here's my interpretation of it.

If you would like to see how I made it, or try one like it yourself, here's a video tutorial for you.

That's it from me in New Zealand. Next up on the hop is the wonderful Leonie Stuart in Australia.

If you get lost along the way, or would like to re-visit anyone, here's a blog roll of this month's participants.
