Blessings of Home for AYSI 269

This time at As You See It, we have a recipe challenge for you. We are joined this challenge by our Guest Designer, Colleen Begley, who was the winner of our last colour challenge.

We'd love to see what you can cook up with our five ingredients!

Ingredient 1: Die or Punch
I used the lovely new Blessings of Home bundle for this. I stamped the small posy and coloured it and die cut it. I added in some extra foliage from the die set.
Ingredient 2: Embossing
I used my favourite, Tiimeworn Type to emboss the white background panel. I used a blending brush to add some So Saffron to back the bouquet.
Ingredient 3: Twine or Ribbon
I cut the Pale Papaya organza ribbon along the edge to get a narrow ribbon, which I then tied in a bow to back the sentiment. I like the subtle fraying of the ribbon too.

Ingredient 4: Pastels
I guess there's two ways of seeing this. I don't have any pastels for colouring, so I thought of it as pastel colours. So I based my card in the Subtle family collection: So Saffron, Petal Pink, Mint Macaron, Soft Sea Foam and a touch of one of this year's In-Colours, Pale Papaya.
Ingredient 5: Thinking of You
I used the ever-reliable Art Gallery for this. The stamp set has a big range of sentiments, including the lovely, 'I'm thinking of you.' I stamped that in Basic Gray on Petal Pink.

I used a few 2021-23 In Colour Jewels to finish it off.

Brilliant Wings for CI 116

Welcome to the latest challenge at Colour INKspiration.  This so very pretty palette was chosen by Crew Member, Cheryll Miller.

If you haven't played with us before, we are a group of Stampin' Up Demonstrators from the South Pacific. Challenges are shown and entered via our Facebook Group page. If you don't belong, and would like to, click here. Don't forget to answer the three easy questions you'll be asked when you ask to join the group.

Each challenge, Top Picks and a winner are chosen by the crew and the winner offered a chance to Guest Design with us for a future challenge. The guest designer this challenge is Bernie Roodt.

If you don't have an exact challenge colour, feel free to replace it with whatever you have that's closest. - for example Rich Razzleberry for Blackberry Bliss. Black, White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and metallics are free colours, as are flesh toned Stampin' Blends.

Initially, I struggled with this because the colours shouted floral at me. That got my contrary side up and I decided I would not go floral. I almost gave in though until a hunt through my collection reminded me of my wonderful Butterfly Brilliance bundle. I loved it so much I got rid of all my other much loved butterfly stamp sets and dies... something I occasionally have a pang of regret about. 😀

I had in mind a garden wall, a summer's day, a pretty tree and a butterfly about to take wing, I'm happy with how this turned out!

If you'd like to see how I made it, then I have a video on my You Tube channel you can view. If you have a go with your own version, I'd love to see how it turns out.

Visit the Colour INKspiration site to check out the album of Crew Cards for inspiration. You can also add your entry there. We all enjoy seeing what you do with our colour palettes, so join in!

Calming Camellia for Sunday Stamps 276

I was delighted to finally get Calming Camellia, the hostess set you can earn for free with an order of $575. What an absolute beauty it is! It's got all the fine detailing we expect from a DistINKtive stamp and a wonderful vintage vibe.

I used the sketch at Sunday Stamps as inspiration to show it off.

For the background, I repeat stamped the large camellia image in Mossy Meadow on Very Vanilla, then toned it down with a layer of vellum.

For the central panel, I started with a small piece of Very Vanilla and stamped the large camellia stamp in the top left and bottom right with Mossy Meadow. After colouring them with Stampin' Blends, I added in some of the scroll stamps, again in Mossy Meadow.

The sentiment was cut using the label die from All Dressed Up dies. A few Basic Rhinestone Jewels finished it all off.
