Sunkissed for Freshly Made Sketches 546

I took inspiration today from the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I'd purchased a quietly unassuming set from the July-December Mini Catalogue, Sunkissed because of the beach images and the summery Christmas greeting and was looking to give it a try out.

I stamped two of the images and coloured them with Stampin' Blends before cutting them out with a stitched circle die. Mine was from the retired Stitched Shapes.

I made the centre sentiment circle into a luggage label, in keeping with the holiday feel of this set. I used the Painted Texture embossing folder because it had the feel of waves about it. The So Saffron circle for the tag came from my bits box but I think originally came from leftovers from Tailor Made Tags,

Cracker & Treat Box Dies for AYSI 280

Time for a new challenge at As You See It! This time, it's 'Fill in the blank....'

Christmas in July! I don't even want to think about it! Fortunately, my latest order arrived and in it were the Christmas Cracker Treat Box dies and they were begging to be tried out.

I used the Gold and Silver DSP from the current Sale-a-Bration brochure to make them. Before cutting them out, I used a blending brush to colour each side of the paper with Cherry Cobbler. This gave the ends of the crackers a pretty tinge, ranging from pink to deep red depending on how heavily I'd inked them. This lovely paper in silver and gold stripes and dots is available to be earned free with any purchase over $110 until the end of August.

The beautiful stitched labels, hearts and stars are part of the die set. I did have to raid the retired sets drawer to find a greeting from Itty Bitty Greetings for them though, but only because I didn't have any of the current ones that would fit.

I tied them off with cord from the Simple Elegant Trim duo.

So, what's your favourite Christmas in July (or August) creation? We'd love to see what you create.

You can see what the team have done and link up your own entry at the As You See It page.

Season of Chic for FMS 545

When I'm stuggling for inspiration, a sketch is the perfect kickstart. One of my favourite places to look for a good sketch is Freshly Made Sketches. Each week, there's a new sketch to inspire.

Sitting on my desk were the gorgeous Split Card Texture dies from the 2022-23 Annual Catalogue. I've used those, along with my favourite bundle, Season of Chic, to make this card.

I also love to ink smoosh, so that's what I did to make the leaves. Isn't the Leaf Fall embossing folder wonderful?!

If you'd like to make this card, here is my video tutorial.

Botanical Layers for AYSI 279

Welcome to the latest colour challenge at As You See It! As always, our chosen Featured Artist for this challenge will be offered the chance to Guest Design with us in our next Recipe Challenge.

I was looking back through some of the cards I've made in the past and found the little circular mini-easel card I made using the Little Elephant set. You can see it here

I thought it would fun to make another one, so I let these colours take me there. I'm still very much enjoying exploring my latest new set, Botanical Layers too.

The butterflies are die cut using the Meadow die set for the larger one and Brilliant Wings for the smaller one. Here it is, folded down ready to pop in an envelope. The embellishments are in Polished Pink from the gorgeous new 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds. Aren't they lovely?

You can see how to make this circular mini-easel card in my video tutorial. It will give you enough information to make one with any set.

We hope that you're as excited by these colours as the Design Team were. We can't wait to see what you do with them. You can see what the rest of the team have done, and link up your entry, at the As You See It Challenge page.
