Butterfly Gala for CI 67 - Crew Card

Welcome to a new challenge at Colour INKspiration!

If you haven't played with us before, we're a group of Australian and New Zealand Stampin' Up Demonstrators. You can play with us by joining in our Facebook group here which will let you play along, comment and vote for your favourite from the top 5 selected by the crew.

In addition to the challenge colours, you can freely use Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, metallics and skin-tone blends. If you don't have the exact challenge colours, you can substitute with your nearest-to colours.

The colours this time are rich and inviting. We'd love to see what you do with them.

I thought the rich colours were like butterflies in a tree and went with that idea. Gold seemed a natural pairing with the opulent Merry Merlot and Pacific Point so the butterflies, from Butterfly Gala, are gold embossed then coloured with Merry Merlot, Pacific Point and Balmy Blue ink.

The lovely leaf stamp from Very Versailles was the perfect resting place for them. In the end, this card is a variation of one I'd made before but in different colours and some variations. You can see it here.

The butterflies are popped and the largest has a Balmy Blue shadow. I used the Scripty embossing folder to give some texture to the Balmy Blue mat and am happy with the effect of that.

Next up on the hop is Cathy Pinchbeck and she'll have more interesting things to show you using these colours.

  1. This is so pretty Jan! Those rich colours really do make your butterfly look so jewel-like against the subtle greenery. I love the peek of texture from your mat layer too. Another Very Versailles beauty!
