I was intrigued by the sketch at TGIF Challenges.
Immediately, I knew that I wanted to used a previously uninked set, Soar Confidently. This little set is easy to overlook in the January-June Mini Catalogue but its masculine, vintage-style images really resonated with me - so I finally cracked and added it to my last order. You can add it to yours by visiting my on-line store.
It works really well with the World of Good suite from the 2020-21 Annual Catalogue because they both have that shabby-vintage vibe. The sketch seemed to suggest that it wanted DSP on the card base, so I looked to the World of Good Specialty DSP. Once I decided to curl over the top corner, revealing the Misty Moonlight patterned reverse, I added in some steam punk gears from the Garage Gears dies, cut from Misty Moonlight, to pop in behind the airship and balloon.
After stamping the images in Early Espresso, I used a blender pen to spread the ink and make the images more sepia and sponged the edges in Early Espresso to add some depth and distress. The edge of the DSP is also sponged in Early Espresso to add to the shabby feel.
I shadowed the sentiment in Brass Foil, to pick up the brassiness of the textured mat.
I think this little set has a lot more to give!
