This week at Retro Rubber, we have an Anything Goes challenge. Of course, as this is Retro Rubber there's still the requirement that you use at least one stamp more than a year old AND tell us the approximate age of it.
One set that I've had for just over a year, that hasn't seen enough use, is Beautiful Moments. This set came out in last year's Occasions catalogue and was the stamp set designed for Jacque Williams' Million Dollar Sales Milestone. If you like the look of it, it's still in the current catalogue.
Jacque is the first and, so far, only New Zealander to make a Million Dollar sales milestone and you couldn't find a kinder, nicer person so it was with pleasure that I got this set. I was mainly thinking of it for scrapbooking but the images work well on cards too. Anyway, I got it out for this challenge just because... just because, it hasn't seen enough ink. 😀
I started off by stamping the image of the two little girls in Basic Gray, then masked them off to add in the horizon line stamp. If you know New Zealand at all, you might recognise that this is the outline of Rangtitoto Island, just off the coast of Auckland. I added in the little butterfly as well. I coloured them with Stampin' Blends and cut out a scalloped square with a Layering Squares die.
I had a bit of trouble deciding how to mount this on the card front but, in the end, went for a Basic Gray shadow, off-set to one corner.
For the card front, I used a Blending Brush to colour up the bottom of the panel in Seaside Spray, then embossed using the Pinewood Planks folder.
The sentiment is one from the set but I cut it in half, then fussy cut out the scripty 'you'.
Inspiration for the layout came from the current challenge at Fab Friday. You can join in with them until 25 March.
Update: Delighted to be chosen as the Fab Fave at Fab Friday!
