Colour INKspiration 49 - Crew card

I am totally delighted to be joining Colour Inkspiration as a crew member and not as a guest designer! This fabulous group of Australian and New Zealand demonstrators run the most tempting colour challenges each fortnight through Facebook, so it was a total honour to be asked to join their crew.  If you're not a member of this group yet, click here and ask to join so you can play along - and get a vote on the final winner.

This is just the perfect colour challenge for high summer. Doesn't it make you want to go the beach - or run to your craft room to immerse yourself in this gorgeous combo?

For this challenge, I got out on old favourite of mine, Lift Me Up. Those hot air balloons are so pretty and so versatile. Set against that bright sky, aren't they the epitome of summer?

The small balloon, I stamped and coloured then masked before sponging the sky. Coastal Cabana - I'm SOOO glad you're back!

The big balloon, I stamped and coloured then die cut so it had a bit more height to it. The little pearls are coloured Highland Heather with a Stampin' Blend.

Finally, I used sponge daubers to colour the sentiment in Highland Heather and Melon Mambo.

We'd love to see what you do with this lovely summery palette and you've got two weeks to join in.

Next on the hop is the fabulous Nicole Wilson.

If you live anywhere in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up demonstrator, I'd love to help you with ideas and Stampin' Up products. Please message me through my Facebook page, linked in the sidebar of this blog or leave a comment below.

And, of course, you can shop with me from anywhere in New Zealand by clicking any of the products pictured below or the SHOP NOW button in the sidebar of this blog or you can message me.

  1. Welcome to the CI Crew Jan, it's wonderful to have your input as part of the team. Love your masking and sponging and you've reminded me to get this old favourite back out again. .. I think I'm going to fall in love with Coastal Cabana this time around

  2. Jan this card is absolutely stunning - that sky is amazing! Everything from the layout, the sponged ombré sky and sentiment and the popped up balloon make this card an example of true CAS perfection. I feel like I need to go find my bucket and spade now and head off to the beach having looked at that sunny inspiration picture ;-) Congratulations on becoming a permanent member of the Inkspiration Crew - they are lucky to have you!
