Welcome to the new challenge at Colour Inkspiration! Aren't the colours so vibrant and summery?!
If you've not played with us before, you'll need to ask to join the Facebook group here. Once you're joined up you can play along, comment on other entries and vote for your pick of the five finalists for the challenge to help decide the eventual winner.
The Colour Inkspiration crew are all Stampin' Up demonstrators from Australia and New Zealand and we welcome participants from all over the world.
These gorgeous colours are so much the colours of summer. I've used them to play around some more with my favourite Occasions sets, Butterfly Gala and Beauty Abounds. I'm not usually a fancy folder when it comes to cards but I've done some experiments with Bendi cards since seeing some online. For the base, I've used the very helpful tutorial by Jenny Hall. I've made a few minor alterations but that was what got me going.
The butterflies are all from Butterfly Gala, coloured with daubers in Mango Melody, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Blueberry Bushel.
For the stamping on the card back, I used the bokeh dots and splatters from Beauty Abounds, incorporating all of the challenge colours.
Picking up on the Sahara Sand splatters, I used Sahara Sand DSP from the Neutrals DSP stack. on the front bends. I like the stripes because on the horizontal, I thought it looked more like garden trellis or fencing.
I'm also entering this card into the challenge at TFIG Challenge.
Update: Delighted to be a Top Pick at TGIF Challenge.

Beautiful Jan, I haven't tried one of these designs yet, but I love your trellis. I also love the vellum circle behind the larger butterfly- it really draws your eye to that feature. very effective sponging.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool card!!! Love the corrugated texture you added to the fun folds! And those bright butterflies are stunning against the white background. Really beautiful! Thanks for joining TGIFC this week.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun card Jan. I love all of the little design details you have added. The more I look, the more I see! x
ReplyDeleteWhat a super fun fold! It goes perfectly with butterflies! And the stripes look awesome. I thought it was corrugated embossed first of all! Love the multicoloured sponged butterflies.
ReplyDeleteAmazing butterflies Jan, such gorgeous, vibrant colours.
