The Paper Players 429

This week it is CAS week at The Paper Players and it's exciting: to use shades of the same colour.

I chose blue and used only two shades: Balmy Blue and Blueberry Bushel. It was also a first outing for a new set Beach Happy from the Occasions catalogue.

The deck chair has stamped stripes but the umbrella is paper pieced.

The chair and umbrella were masked off and I sponged over some Balmy Blue. After creating a horizon line with a Post-it note, I added in some Blueberry Bushel to delineate sky from water. Then I added in some stylised wave lines to give the idea of water.

I think it's an all-purpose card: encouragement, retirement, bon voyage, get well, birthday...

Update: Delighted to be A Cut Above at The Paper Players this week!

  2. This is a fabulous card Jan! I love that your card has so much detail, yet is perfectly CAS and features only two shades of blue. Great masking and paper piecing - makes me long for a sunny holiday to escape the chill of winter!! Thanks for joining us over at The Paper Players this week!
