Notes of Nature for Stampin' Fancy Friday

This month, the theme at Stampin' Fancy Friday is a sketch. I love a sketch challenge! Once you start thinking about one, there are just so many ways to play with it.

You can see that I've played it with a fairly straight bat here, sticking quite closely to the layout in the sketch. I love the Notes of Nature bundle. Since it's part of a suite with DSP, there's a real temptation to stick with the colours of the DSP - in this case, Pebbled Path, Pecan Pie and Gold. But there's no reason to stick to those colours. Switch it up to anything you like for more versatility.

I've gone wild with Basic Black, Parakeet Party and Tahitian Tide. The last two are retiring In Colors, so it's good to give them a last run, quite apart from their vibrant beauty.

We don't blog hop as such but the team at Stampin' Fancy Friday do a daily inspiration post on Instagram. The team at Stampin' Fancy Friday are all current or past members of Stampin' Up!'s Artisan Design Team, so it really is a great place to pick up ideas or recharge your creative mojo. Follow @stampinfancyfriday if you don't already. 😀

Notes of Nature for Stampin' Fancy Friday

This month, the theme at Stampin' Fancy Friday is 'Something Blue'. With so many gorgeous blues in the Stampin' Up! stable, this is a great challenge - especially since blue is my favourite colour.

I love to create inky backgrounds, so enjoyed using Balmy Blue, Azure Afternoon and Blueberry Bushel with a hint of Boho Blue for this one, along with my favourite bundle - Notes of Nature.

Grab a cup of coffee and watch how I made it, then give it a go yourself. I'd love to see how it turns out!

Notes of Nature for AYSI 316

Welcome to the latest challenge at As You See It! This time, it's our 'fill in the blank' which always comes straight after a colour challenge. With the new January-April Mini Catalogue just out, I'm sure there's plenty of candidates for this one!

I did indeed have many candidates, but there were two items that were still in the packaging from my demonstrator pre-order box. They were the Mini Alphabet Dies and the brayer. It was the brayer that caught my eye and experimentation began!

In the past, I've had trouble getting a result I was happy with when I attempted to ink up my embossing folders. When I tried it with the brayer, I was much happier with the outcome.

I started by inking all over with Soft Sea Foam, then added in some random swipes with Lost Lagoon, put it all through the machine and this is what turned out. So then it was a question of turning it into something!

I didn't want to obscure the patterning too much, so went  for a cluster of die cuts from Notes of Nature. When I tested out a few options for the colour pop, Wild Wheat was certainly the outside chance but I just kept coming back to it - so here it is!

My brayer experiments are certainly not over but I'm pretty happy with day 1. 😀

Don't forget to pop over to the As You See It page to see what the rest of the Design Team have done and to link up your own entry.

Notes of Nature for The Paper Players 672

One of my resolutions for this year was to make time each day to craft for pure pleasure: not for a class, or a design team or a tutorial package but absolutely just for fun! We'll see how long that lasts for! Today it was easy with the latest challenge at The Paper Players calling to me to play along.

My hands down favourite from the January-April Mini is the Notes of Nature bundle, so that was where I turned for inspiration today.

My favourite green at the moment is Granny Apple Green, so I've used that as my pop of colour.

A white embossed sentiment on Basic Black seemed the perfect choice for the challenge. The Basic Rhinestone Jewels were the closest to white while giving a touch of bling.

Update: Delighted to be named as A Cut Above at The Paper Players.

You can join me in the Creativity Abounds Virtual Stamp Camp, featuring the Notes of Nature bundle. All the details are here.

Notes of Nature for Freshly Made Sketches 616

It was a hot summery day and I retreated to my cool craft room to indulge in playing with some of my pre-order items from the January 2024 Mini Catalogue. First up was the Notes of Nature bundle, part of the Nature's Sweetness suite.

I took inspiration from the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I like the eclectic mix of images in this set, beautifully enhanced by the add-on die cuts. I enjoyed creating the stamped background for the foliage and sentiment cluster, using a mix of Pebbled Path and Granny Apple Green ink.

The cork embellishments are part of the Nature's Sweetness suite, as is the lovely Specialty DSP.

Update: Delighted to be a Perfect Princess at Freshly Made Sketches.

These products will be available in the New Year. As always, the release of the Mini Catalogue is also the beginning of the Sale-abration promotion.
