Welcome to the latest challenge at As You See It! This time, it's our 'fill in the blank' which always comes straight after a colour challenge. With the new January-April Mini Catalogue just out, I'm sure there's plenty of candidates for this one!
I did indeed have many candidates, but there were two items that were still in the packaging from my demonstrator pre-order box. They were the Mini Alphabet Dies and the brayer. It was the brayer that caught my eye and experimentation began!
In the past, I've had trouble getting a result I was happy with when I attempted to ink up my embossing folders. When I tried it with the brayer, I was much happier with the outcome.
I started by inking all over with Soft Sea Foam, then added in some random swipes with Lost Lagoon, put it all through the machine and this is what turned out. So then it was a question of turning it into something!
My brayer experiments are certainly not over but I'm pretty happy with day 1. 😀

Lol, love this result, Jan, and so happy you had fun with your new brayer! I'm about to get my old speedball out, lol, so happy to see brayer techniques back in the limelight!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heather. I don't actually know what a speedball is!
DeleteThis is just lovely Jan and the cluster of foliage really allows the brayered textured panel to shine. I like the pop of Wild Wheat too - such a tricky colour to work with! Looking forward to seeing the results of more brayering adventures!
ReplyDeleteThanks. :-)
DeleteI have a SU brayer Jan and it is fantastic! You have inspired me to get it out again with your fabulous inked/embossed background. You are always brilliant with colour and I love the Wild Wheat pop with your blue-greens. Vicky x
ReplyDeleteThank you Vicky! I enjoyed using the brayer to colour the folder since I haven't had such good results with other methods. Thanks also for the vote for Wild Wheat!
