Blessings of Home for AYSI 269

This time at As You See It, we have a recipe challenge for you. We are joined this challenge by our Guest Designer, Colleen Begley, who was the winner of our last colour challenge.

We'd love to see what you can cook up with our five ingredients!

Ingredient 1: Die or Punch
I used the lovely new Blessings of Home bundle for this. I stamped the small posy and coloured it and die cut it. I added in some extra foliage from the die set.
Ingredient 2: Embossing
I used my favourite, Tiimeworn Type to emboss the white background panel. I used a blending brush to add some So Saffron to back the bouquet.
Ingredient 3: Twine or Ribbon
I cut the Pale Papaya organza ribbon along the edge to get a narrow ribbon, which I then tied in a bow to back the sentiment. I like the subtle fraying of the ribbon too.

Ingredient 4: Pastels
I guess there's two ways of seeing this. I don't have any pastels for colouring, so I thought of it as pastel colours. So I based my card in the Subtle family collection: So Saffron, Petal Pink, Mint Macaron, Soft Sea Foam and a touch of one of this year's In-Colours, Pale Papaya.
Ingredient 5: Thinking of You
I used the ever-reliable Art Gallery for this. The stamp set has a big range of sentiments, including the lovely, 'I'm thinking of you.' I stamped that in Basic Gray on Petal Pink.

I used a few 2021-23 In Colour Jewels to finish it off.

You can see what the rest of the Design Team have done with this recipe and link up your own entry at the As You See It Challenge site.

Art Gallery for Paper Players 549

The colour challenge at The Paper Players really appealed to me. Thank goodness for a rainy day, which made extra craft time guilt free!

Here's the challenge colours: all colours I like but haven't used nearly enough.

If you read yesterday's post, you'll know I received a box of pre-order goodies. Already, I'm pairing up some of them with existing items. The Harvest Meadow DSP is new but the stamp bundle is Art Gallery, a favourite of mine. The Harvest Meadow DSP is from the forthcoming July-December Mini Catalogue and will be available from the start of August.

I've used the very pretty bobble-edged die from Ornate Layers as a mat for the flowers.

Art Gallery for CAS Colours and Sketches 422

A quick post today for a quick and easy card. 😀

I loved the colour palette at CAS Colours and Sketches and went to work with the Art Gallery bundle.
This is a quick and straight forward card. I stamped the large flower in Fresh Freesia and added the accents in Gorgeous Grape and die cut them out. The stems are stamped in Soft Succulent and die cut also. Then it was just a matter of arranging and attaching them. To add interest, the bottom flower is on dimensionals.

The background has been embossed with the new Stitched Greenery die. Doesn't it give a wonderful, subtle effect?

The sentiment is from the same stamp set. One of the delights of the Art Gallery set is the range of useful sentiments included in it. The postage stamp edging is one of the dies from the bundle and I cut a second one in Gorgeous Grape. I like the way they give the effect of small circles when they're layered.

A couple of Fresh Freesia Coloured Gems finished things off nicely.

Around the World on Wednesday Inspiration Hop

Hello from New Zealand! I'm delighted to be joining in with the team at Around the World on Wednesday. This team of wonderful crafters hop on the second Wednesday of each month with a whole lot of inspiration for you on a theme. This month, the theme is "You've Got Mail: It's All About the Inside."

Before I get to that, a little more about the Around The World on Wednesday team. The team is selected so that there's someone from every timezone in the world where Stampin' Up! operates - so it really is Around the World! In fact, the world is so big that when I post this blog, it will almost be Thursday for me. I'll be setting it to publish at 11pm Wednesday night.

Anyway,  here we all are. At the end of the blog, there's a list so that you can jump directly to a particular crafter or get back on track if you're lost.

So... you've got mail. Isn't is lovely to open the letterbox and find some handcrafted goodness, instead of the rates bill or some junk mail? Of course, the anticipation only begins with the envelope. For me, it's what's inside that gets me curious.

The project I'm sharing with you looks like almost any Congratulations card at the start, with maybe some extra anticipation in having to undo a bow to get to the inside.

But on the inside, it's oh so much more. It's a concertina album card and was made for my daughter's graduation day. I chose to use the Floral Art Gallery suite, since one of the sheets of DSP seemed to be channelling her dress. The pink floral matched in with the hood for a Bachelor of Arts too, so it was a perfect set to use.

Once you've untied the ribbon, the album concertinas out, revealing picture after picture. Each photo has been matted onto coordinating card stock, and extra bits of journalling has been added to some using the postage-edge die from the Art Gallery dies. Some pages are stamped onto Whisper White card stock and some are DSP.

And, of course, the photos continue on the reverse side of each panel as well. So it really is a case of 'It's All About the Inside."

For more inspiration, please keep hopping.
