The Paper Players 454

Black, white and one colour challenges always interest me but I hadn't originally intended playing along with the challenge at The Paper Players this week - too many things to fit in!

One of those things to fit in was a trip to the hairdresser. She was wearing an amazing blouse: black with white polka dots sprayed with vivid flowers that had no leaves. By the end of my haircut I decided the flowers were Mango Melody. In the afternoon, I had a card class and as I was putting away the white ink I remembered that in the new set of decorative masks coming in the 2019 Holiday Catalogue was a polka dot one. Together, these things seemed a sign that I should make a card!

I used white ink over the polka dot mask to create a triangle shape of dots. Then I added in the two flowers from To a Wild Rose along one edge. I used Stampin' Blends for the coloured rose and Mango Melody ink to stamp in the stamens on the white one.

I added some rhinestones, coloured with the Dark Mango Melody blend to lead the eye down the page to the sentiment. The sentiment is from Seaside Notions.

  1. Another wonderful creation Jan. I love the soft stencilled spotted background and that Mango flower really pops against the black. Great that your trip to the hairdressers was so inspiring! Thanks for sharing with us over at The Paper Players this week!
