It's Clean and Simple week at The Paper Players this week which means there's not only a theme but a crafting style to think about. LeAnne's got us thinking of a sweet treat as our theme. Then think about using lots of white space, minimal layers and embellishments... aim for an uncluttered, clean look.
Cake is definitely a sweet treat! I've coloured the cake and stand, popped them on a funky striped background and added a strip of coordinating paper along the side. Simple and clean. I made this card last week before going to On Stage but if I'd just waited a little bit, I could have had a whole new cake set to play with....
I particularly like the Iridescent Ice icing on this cake.

Beautiful, Jan! I love the bit of sparkle and the paper on the side. Such a cute clean and simple card. This would definitely brighten anyone's birthday!
ReplyDeleteCute cake...love the sparkle! And the polka dot paper...such a fun Birthday card!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great CAS birthday card Jan, the sentiment says it all! I love the background stripes behind the cake, too - all so perfectly balanced.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this cake! It looks delish, especially with that yummy icing! The colors are fun..some of my favorites...and your shading is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fab card Jan that would work in lots of colourways! I think I may have to CASE it with the new stamp and punch to which you are referring ;-) Oddly I was particularly drawn to those background stripes; I have this stamp set but never know what to use it for, so thanks for the inspiration!
