The Paper Players 414 - Design Team Card

I'm in love with Jaydee's colour challenge at The Paper Players this week.

It conjures up visions of cosy fireside autumn evenings, sunny autumn afternoons playing in the leaves and of opulent interiors. Wonderful colours! But not ones I use that often...

I've been having a bit of a thing with Very Vintage of late and the colours just seemed to be begging to use that set. I used Stampin' Write markers to colour the beautiful floral bouquet and the bee while I used stamped off Cajun Craze for the tattered lace doilies.

It's perhaps hard to see in the picture, but I used Wink of Stella on the bee's wings and on the flowers.
This not only gives a pleasing shimmer to them but it smears the inks a little so that you get a kind of water-coloured effect in those areas. I suppose you could call it Wink of Stella painting!

For a finishing touch, I coloured some rhinestones with a dark Cajun Craze Stampin' Blend and added a trio of them. Don't the Stampin' Blends make a great job of customising embellishments?

At The Paper Players, we'd love to see what you do with Jaydee's rich colours. Visit The Paper Players and see what the rest of the team have done with them.

  3. Jan this is such a pretty card! I shy away from stamp sets like this as I find the vintage look a challenging one to get right, yet you make it look so effortless - I'm in awe! I love the addition of the Wink of Stella and the contrast of the striped background too. Beautiful Fall florals!
