Create with Connie and Mary 340

I've had this lingering love affair with Lost Lagoon ever since it was released last year and so when I saw this week's challenge at Create with Connie and Mary, it kept calling to me.

I was worried that the colour combination might be hard to work with but the biggest problem turned out the be the persistent misbehaviour of my Basic Grey stamp pad. Despite watching YouTube on how to re-ink, I just don't think I've got the hang of it yet, this one being my first one to require re-inking attention.

I only received my I Love Lace stamp last week with my latest order from Stampin' Up and oh, how I wish I'd had it sooner! It's such a great background stamp. French Flourish is also new to me, although I have long admired it, so it was great to be able to use lots of my new stuff for this card.

I cut a Grey and a Lost Lagoon 'you' and offset them slightly to create a shadow effect. After much deliberation, I decided that Linen Twine could pass as Sahara Sand. I'm still very much in love with Kinda Eclectic and can't quite believe that it took me a while to come round to the butterflies in that set over the ones in Papillon Potpourri. (Still got a soft spot for them though.)
