Paper Craft Crew 133

Crushed Curry is a colour that languishes in my craft boxes, often ignored and unused. So, I was quite surprised to find myself reaching for it today for my vision of a summery card that could be multi-purpose: missing you, get well or maybe even sympathy. This was in response to yet another delightfully enticing sketch at Paper Craft Crew. Such a good discovery!

The layers of the 'you' are slightly offset to create a shadow effect. The edges of cut panels have been coloured black to add definition to the shapes. I'm very happy with the flower, made of four layers of flowers from the pansy punch that were cut in Crushed Curry and sponged with Calypso Coral. The top two layers, I snipped a little between petals to allow them to curl up more to create extra depth.

Card: Crushed Curry, Crushed Curry DSP, Whisper White, Black, Calypso Coral, Garden Green, Vellum

Ink: Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral, Black Stazon
Other: Pansy Punch, Antique Brad, Leaf Sizzlit, Hello You Thinlit dies, Candy Dots, corner rounder, black marker pen to colour edges, sponge

  1. Hi Jan, you have created a beautiful card for us this week at the Paper Craft Crew. I especially love the coloring of your butterfly and the sponging on your flowers for added dimension! Thanks for playing!

  2. Fabulous card Jan! I love your beautifully coloured butterfly and flower and the offset "you" is fantastic! Thanks for joining us at The Paper Craft Crew again :-)

  3. Jan, Amazing card! Love the colors, and especially how you double layered the "you." Butterflies are one of my favorite accents. Thanks for playing along with The Paper Craft Crew.
