Saleabration Items for AYSI 256

We had such wonderful entries in our colour challenge last week that we're hoping for even more in our Fill In the Blank challenge: My Favourite Animal is....

When it comes to Christmas, my favourite is a reindeer. That must be true of many people because the Peaceful Prints DSP, which you can earn for free as a Saleabration Reward, has this lovely plaid reindeer.

I've paired it up with another Saleabration reward,  Be Dazzling Specialty Paper. This champagne glittery paper comes in 15cm square packs of eight sheets and adds a touch of opulence to any project.

Saleabration runs from 3 August to the end of September. With any single order of $110 (excluding postage) you can choose a free item from the Saleabration brochure. That applies to each $110,  so if your wish list is long and stretches to $220 you can choose two rewards - and so on. If you don't have your July-December Mini Catalogue and Saleabration brochure yet, you can browse by clicking the links in the sidebar. If you live in New Zealand, I can get you  hard copy if you prefer.

You can see what the favourite animals of the rest of the Design Team are, and link up your entry, by visiting the As You See It Challenge site here.

If you live in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. I can help you with ideas, get you catalogues and provide you with Stampin' Up products. Beautiful Moments for Paper Players

The challenge this week at The Paper Players is a theme challenge, and one that's hard to go past: Beside the Seaside.

Well, the beach is my Happy Place and I've many happy memories of being at the beach with the children. Two of our favourite things from when they were small were picking up shells and interesting bits from the shore and popping them into the sand castle buckets, and paddling our feet in the water.

The whimsical images from Beautiful Moments fitted the bill perfectly, especially the one of the two small girls with their buckets.

Having given them some beach and sky, colouring and then paper-piecing their dresses, the card still seemed to be missing something. So I got out Friends are Like Seashells to add in some extra beachiness... plus it gave me a good excuse for some theraputic colouring.

I chose the Painted Textures 3D Embossing Folder for the background because it seemed to me to be like the ripples of sea water when the waves wash to the shore. I've partially coloured this with Pool Party ink and a blending brush.  Once I did that, I realised this card was turning out to be a close sister of this one.

Update: Delighted to be A Cut Above at The Paper Players.

Forever Blossoms for Retro Rubber 164

Welcome to a new challenge at Retro Rubber Challenge. This time, it's Anything Goes, which is almost true! Because it's RETRO rubber, of course you still need to use stamps that are a year or more old and give us an approximate age for them.

Forever Blossoms is a set that came out in the Occasions catalogue, January 2020. It's really a romantic occasions set, with some suitably romantic sentiments. While I was thinking of this as an Anniversary card, there are plenty of other times you might want to remind someone of how much they mean to you.

I started by stamping the large spray of flowers twice and colouring them with Stampin' Blends. Then I  cut some flowers out of the second spray so I could layer them up on the final card.

I sponged some Pool Party onto the card front using a Blending Brush. The sponged area grounds the flowers while suggesting a hint of sky behind them.

For the Flirty Flamingo base, I stamped the flower spray stamp over it in Flirty Flamiingo ink. Then I set the white panel into one corner, rather than centrally, so that the pattern could be seen.

Harvest Meadow for Freshly Made Sketches 496

What better way to spend a wintery Sunday afternoon than in the craft room? The sketch at Freshly Made Sketches was inspiration to play with the Harvest Meadow bundle from the forthcoming July-December Mini Catalogue.
The background to this card is the lovely new Cork Specialty DSP, which feels like cork but is thin like paper so cuts really well.

One of the many delights from the new catalogues are the Brushed Metallic Adhesive backed embellishments, which come in gold, copper and pewter.

Other than the card base in Cajun Craze, the inks and Stampin' Blends, and the sentiment from Art Gallery everything else will be available on 3 August.
