Gallery Blooms for Stampin' Fancy Friday

This month at Stampin' Fancy Friday, our inspiration is a sketch.
I love a sketch challenge because they're great springboards: when you see the shapes and layers the mind starts filling them with options.

The team at Stampin' Fancy Friday don't blog hop but we do a daily inspiration post on Instagram (and Facebook). The team at Stampin' Fancy Friday are all current or past members of Stampin' Up!'s Artisan Design Team, so it really is a great place to pick up ideas or recharge your creative mojo.

I used the new Gallery Blooms bundle because I'm still playing with pre-order items. This lovely bundle will be available from 6 May.

I stamped two floral sprays in Secret Sea (one of the new In Colors), then coloured them with Stampin' Blends in Peach Pie, Calypso Coral, Petal Pink and Lost Lagoon. Once coloured, I die cut both sprays out and layered them over a circle cut using one of the Spotlight on Nature dies.

The Gallery Blooms dies have lots of extra bits and bobs, so I cut some leaves and flowers from scraps of Calypso Coral, Petal Pink and Lost Lagoon and tucked them in around the main floral sprays.

The sentiment, stamped in Secret Sea, is from one of the Online Exclusive sets, Textured Notes - as is the die used to cut it out.

Slightly harder to see in the photo is that the Secret Sea card front has been embossed with the new Damask Designs embossing folder that is part of the Beautiful Gallery suite.

The embellishments are from the Petal Pink and Pretty Peacock Foil Gems - which you can get right now from the Last Chance section of the store.

Going Dotty for Stampin' Fancy Friday

This month, the theme at Stampin' Fancy Friday is Going Dotty! We were challenged to showcase dots in some way.

The team at Stampin' Fancy Friday don't blog hop but we do a daily inspiration post on Instagram. The team at Stampin' Fancy Friday are all current or past members of Stampin' Up!'s Artisan Design Team, so it really is a great place to pick up ideas or recharge your creative mojo.

Follow @stampinfancyfriday if you don't already. 😀

I started with wetting a sheet of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper then smooshing Shaded Spruce, Blueberry Bushel and Balmy Blue onto it. Once it dried, I cut a series of circles from it using the Stylish Shapes dies.

The card base is Blueberry Bushel and the Basic White card front is embossed with the hybrid Seaside Wishes folder, available as part of the Seaside Wishes bundle.

I stamped the fish and seaweed from Beauty of the Deep with  Jet Black Stazon onto Fluid 100 Water Color paper. I water-coloured them using a Water Painter and ink in Blueberry Bushel, Crushed Curry and Shaded Spruce. then die cut them out with Beauty of the Deep dies

The sentiment is from Country Birdhouse and cut with a banner from Stylish Shapes

The trio of embellishments are Tinsel Gems.

So, quite a mix of products in this one but I really like the bubbles of sea that climb the card front.

Faux Torn Paper Masking for Stampin' Fancy Friday

This month, the theme at Stampin' Fancy Friday is 'A Favourite Technique'.

We don't blog hop as such but the team at Stampin' Fancy Friday do a daily inspiration post on Instagram. The team at Stampin' Fancy Friday are all current or past members of Stampin' Up!'s Artisan Design Team, so it really is a great place to pick up ideas or recharge your creative mojo. Follow @stampinfancyfriday if you don't already. 😀

A favourite technique of mine is Faux Torn Paper masking. It's very easy to do and gives an interesting look. Simply tear a piece of photo copy paper or grid paper to use as a mask, blend over your chosen ink colours, stamp, remove the mask then carry on with whatever embellishments you like.

I used the Season of Chic bundle because I love the marine images and dies - and that wonderful net die makes everything look good! Season of Chic is retiring at the end of April, so look out for it in the Last Chance Sale.

The colours I've used are Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Azure Afternoon.

If you're unsure of the technique, you can see a video of another card I made using the same technique here.

Flowing Flowers for Stampin Fancy Friday

The StampinFancyFriday team is a group of past and present Stampin' Up! Artisan Design team members. Each month, we have an inspiration theme and add daily posts on that theme. We recently hit 10 000 followers. If you haven't already followed us, then it's not too late! 😀

This month's inspiration was this sketch by team member, Jennifer Frost. Isn't it great? If you're inspired by this sketch, feel free to make your own. When you do create a project with the sketch, share your project on IG or FB then tag us or use #stampinfancyfriday or #fancyfridaychallenges in your post.

I've used the beautiful Flowing Flowers stamp set from the January-June 2022 Mini Catalogue.

Here's a couple of photos of it and the link to the video tutorial if you'd like to see how I did it.

Here's a step-by-step tutorial on how I put this together. If you like what you see, don't forget to subscribe to my channel, Thinking Stamping. 😀
