Gorgeous Leaves for AYSI 263

It's Recipe Challenge week this week. Simply take the five ingredients and see what you can cook up with them.

Gorgeous Leaves is such a wonderfully versatile set. I've used it here for a THANKS card which matches the One Word Sentiment condition. It's popped up dimensionals on one of the Tasteful Labels dies.

For element two, Embossing Folder, I've used the Timber 3D Embossing Folder on the Very Vanilla background panel.

For element three, ribbon or twine, cord from the Simply Elegant Trim pack.

I've gone overboard on element four, punch or die cut, as I've used Tasteful Labels dies for the sentiment, Intricate Leaves dies for the two leaves, and Basic Borders dies for the cut edge of the card base.

For element five, Neutrals, I've stuck to the Neutrals colour family:Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and Merry Merlot. I also consider metallics to be neutrals so have used the gold cord trim and some Gilded Leafing Embellishment.

I also took inspiration from the latest challenge at Freshly Made Sketches for this project.

We'd love to see what you make of these ingredients. You can see what the rest of the team have done and link up your entry by visiting the As You See It Challenge site.

Gorgeous Leaves for AYSI 261

It's time for a new challenge at As You See It and as always, straight after the sketch challenge comes the Colour Challenge. Don't forget that the Featured Artist from this challenge will be offered the chance to Guest Design in our next Recipe Challenge.

The Bark 3D Embossing folder had just arrived at my house so, of course, I had to try it out. From there, it was just a short step to add some leaves from the Intricate Leaves dies - part of the Gorgeous Leaves bundle.

For the background, I die cut the Vellum panel with one of the Ornate Layers dies. Then I scribbled on it with Blackberry Bliss and Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends and dribbled some Isopropyl Alcohol with a Water Painter to make the inks run. I put it out in the sun to evaporate the excess alcohol and voila - you're left with this random alcohol ink pattern. Very simple to do but never expect the same result twice. Like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates, you never know what you'll get!

The sentiment, white embossed on Blackberry Bliss card, is from Ornate Thanks. A few rhinestones finished things off by adding in some more silvery tones.

I used the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set to decorate the inside of the card.

We'd love to see how you see these colours. You can see what the rest of the team have done and link up your entry at the As You See It Challenge site.

Gorgeous Leaves for AYSI 260

We're back round to sketch week, one of our six regular challenge types at As You See It Challenge.

I'm really enjoying playing around with the Gorgeous Leaves Bundle from the July-December Mini Catalogue. I've used neutrals paired up with Very Vanilla for this card.

As fabulous as the dies in this bundle are on their own, the stamps are very satisfying to use too and I've made a stamped panel as the main feature of this project.

The two small die cuts and their linen twine bow embellish the simple sentiment, which is from Art Gallery.

We'd love to see how you see this challenge. You can see what the rest of the team have done and link up your entry at the As You See It Challenge site.

Inspiration for this card also came from the theme challenge at Global Design Project.
