Cheerful Daisies for AWOW July

It's already time for another Inspiration Hop with Around the World on Wednesday. On the second Wednesday of each month, the team put together a thematic hop to give you some inspiration for your own crafting. We love it when you try out something new or CAS(E) one of our projects. The team is truly international, with members from each time zone of the world that Stampin' Up! operates. You're with me, in New Zealand - the first place in the Stampin' Up! world to change the date. 😀

This month, our inspiration was to CASE another member of the team. But it wasn't as simple as just looking through the team and finding someone whose work I loved. Our team leader, Angie, likes to organise things to that the team get to know each other a little better along the way. She held a live draw where we were paired up with someone else on the team. Even then, that was not the end. The pairs were not to CASE each other but to talk together and find a third member of the team that neither of us had CASEd before, agree on one of their cards ... and then, agree on a colour we would both use. PHEW! A mission all on it's own - and I hadn't even crafted anything yet!

I was lucky enough to be drawn with the delightful Angie herself. Our first mission was to find a time we could zoom, given that the time difference between us meant there were only a few hours each day when we'd both be awake! But find one we did and we spent a pleasant hour chatting and working out who we might CASE. Several message threads later, we decided on the wonderful Cheryll Miller from Australia and a few more threads later, which of her many marvellous creations we would each CASE. 😀

Here's Cheryll's card that Angie and I have CASEd. Isn't it a beauty?

In my case, I preserved many of the elements of Cheryll's card: a square format, an embossed background with a matted horizontal panel, a mat around the main panel, a floral bouquet to the left side that breaks the strip, a sentiment stamped on the panel to the right and a mix of stamped images and raised elements.

I think the parentage is clear! The colour that Angie and I agree we would both use was Soft Sea Foam.

So while you're hopping, watch our for Angie's case of the Cheryll's original and of course, more magic from Cheryll herself.

  1. Oh Jan ... you have made my night. So sweet of you and Angie to case my card. This one is an oldie, but definitely one of my all time favourites. Isn't it strange how you can be transported right back to a time and place when you see one of your old cards! :) I love both your and Angies versions. I really love the light, delicate feel you have produced! Big hugs. xxxx

  4. Gorgeous! I've been thinking I needed to do something with these daisies that captures the colors of a wedding I was in - 60 years ago. I was a flower girl with my cousin and we wore white dresses with sea foam sashes and the bridesmaids wore Soft Sea Foam. We all carried daisies. Your card totally captures the look I was thinking of.
