Season of Chic for AYSI 304

This week at As You See It, it's 'fill in the blank' week. Summer. As I sit here watching the winter rains fall and double check the heat pump to make sure it's working, it seems a long, long way away! But I do love summer and then I love nothing more than spending some time at the beach.

I love wandering along the sand seeing what the tide has brought up. I like to pick up sea shells. So off the stamp shelf came Season of Chic since I really like the sea shell images and die cuts in it.

Originally, I had my cluster of seashells and seaweed on a plain background but then got inspired to add in some texture. I used this folder from the Basics 3D Embossing trio (online exclusive) because of the South Pacific feel of the images although, now I see it photographed, I'm beginning to regret the decision! Be assured, it's less strong in real life!

Once again, I'm reminded of what a fantastic product the Distressed Gold DSP is - just perfect for so many situations.

What's the best thing about summer for you? Why not make something and show us? You can link up your entry, and see what the rest of the team have done, right here.

  1. Just beautiful, Jan, and beautiful shells, too, lol. I love to wander around and pick up little beauties! I have jars and jars full of them myself, lol. Love the colors and texture here, and just the right touch of gold!

  2. so beautiful Jan! Loving the soft colours and the texture in your background. I didn't get any beach days on my recent trip to NZ, so that's defintiely on my list for next time!

  3. That's funny, Jan, because I was going to say how much that embossing folder reminded me of starfish, when you pair it with other sea images, such as the seashells from Season of Chic! I agree with you about the Distressed Gold paper! You can't go wrong with it and it looks amazing here even with these pastel colours!

  4. I love to go shell collecting at the beach too Jan and your card is a perfect celebration of this! I think our best beach for shell collecting was on the island of Sanibel, off the southern Florida coast - the shells there were amazing! I love the addition of the embossed background too. Keep warm - summer will be here for you soon enough!

  5. Lovely Jan! I don't think I saw a beach until I was an adult. I saw plenty of mountains and land since I live in Big Sky Country. I am going to have to get these embossing folders - I have overlooked them. I don't think it is too strong - it makes me think of starfish which is perfect for your shells! Well done you!
