Scrapbooking for AWOW July

Thank you for joining in with the latest hop from the crew at Around the World on Wednesday. If you haven't hopped with us before, we're a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from every time zone in the world where Stampin' Up! operates. You're here with me, in New Zealand.

Each month we present a different theme to inspire you to create.
This month, our theme is 'CASE a Team Member'. The twist was to talk to our team mate about the project were are CASEing.

Angie McKenzie, our Captain, organised a meeting for us so we could watch her randomly pair us up. I was lucky enough to draw the lovely Danielle Kassing from the Netherlands as the person I'm CASEing. It was great to chat with her, not only about her project but about where she lived and what she was up to. đŸ˜€

Danielle's blog Stamp Along is worth a visit, although you will of course come across it during this hop. The project that really caught my eye was actually her last project for Around the World on Wednesday, where she did a fabulous scrapbooking layout.

I do love inky techniques, especially when I'm scrapbooking, and I've used Danielle's layout as inspiration for a page of my granddaughter, taken in her first week.

As you see, I've used Danielle's ink-smooshed and stencilled background with the focus of a single photo and sentiment in the bottom right of the photo.

I have obviously changed the colours to Smoky Slate and Blushing Bride, with the text in Basic Gray, I've added in an extra layer behind the photo, embellished with a die cut edge from the Blossoming Happiness dies. The sentiment is from Season of Chic and uses the Lovely Labels Pick a  Punch. I think I've used more stencilling than Danielle too but I think you can clearly see the original in the CASE.

Thank you, Danielle for such great inspiration!

Next up on the hop is Tatiana Tobin, from Australia.
