It's sketch week at As You See It and we have a wonderful one to stimulate your mojo.
Isn't it great?!
I saw the three circles as scallop shells from Season of Chic, a set that is already a firm favourite of mine.
They're stamped in Soft Suede, partly filled with Blushing Bride and sponged around the edges in Crumb Cake.
I cut the mesh panel from the Distressed Gold Specialty paper. This is such a fantastic paper with the distressed and textured look while still being light enough to die cut easily.
I've stamped in the background with different generations of Soft Succulent with some splatters of Blushing Bride.
I added in some of the 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds as a lovely finishing touch.
We'd love to see how you see this sketch, so don't forget to visit the As You See It page to see what the rest of the Design Team have done and to link up your own creation.

I just love this Jan! The colouring of the card gives the whole thing quite a naturalistic look and the addition of the distressed gold net layer and the sequins add a lovely touch of luxury. Definitely in my CASE pile!
ReplyDeleteDang, Jan, now all this has to go on my wish list, too, lol. This is stunning - that gold detail is just amazing - time to break it out!
ReplyDeleteWhat can one say, other than another extremely stunning card made with beautiful colours. You make this stamp set a must
ReplyDeletehave in one's collection with your designs.

DeleteI LOVE the rich colors of this card. It gave me such a warm feeling!
ReplyDeleteThis stamp set is one that is on my list even before you showed it off! Makes me wish I had ordered it already! Beautiful and simple card that is perfect for the sketch challenge!
ReplyDeleteJan, this is exquisite! I just want to channel you all the time! I love the beautiful background that you've created for your trio of seashells, without needing the overwhelming DSP right behind them! So lovely!
ReplyDeleteJan - this is so subtle and at the same time, eye-catching. Lovely. Can you tell us how you created the beautiful colours of th shells?
ReplyDeleteSo glad you like it! So, I stamped the outline in Soft Suede. I used Blushing Bride for the more solid filler stamp but I did lightly run a cloth around the top so that there'd be more colour at the bottom of the shell. Then I used a blending brush to lightly sponge around the edge of the shell in Crumb Cake. I also think that popping them up on dimensionals gives them a subtle prominence they would lack if I'd adhered them straight onto the card front. Hope that helps. :-)
DeleteIt does indeed. Thanks so much, Jan. So well done!
