Season of Chic for AYSI 278

It's sketch week at As You See It and we have a wonderful one to stimulate your mojo.

Isn't it great?!

I saw the three circles as scallop shells from Season of Chic, a set that is already a firm favourite of mine.
They're stamped in Soft Suede, partly filled with Blushing Bride and sponged around the edges in Crumb Cake.

I think the birthday sentiment is one of the nicest greetings. It's stamped in Soft Suede too.

The asymmetric panel is one of the gold-flecked patterns from the Texture Chic Specialty Designer Papers.
I cut the mesh panel from the Distressed Gold Specialty paper. This is such a fantastic paper with the distressed and textured look while still being light enough to die cut easily.

I've stamped in the background with different generations of Soft Succulent with some splatters of Blushing Bride.

I added in some of the 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds as a lovely finishing touch.

We'd love to see how you see this sketch, so don't forget to visit the As You See It page to see what the rest of the Design Team have done and to link up your own creation.

  1. I just love this Jan! The colouring of the card gives the whole thing quite a naturalistic look and the addition of the distressed gold net layer and the sequins add a lovely touch of luxury. Definitely in my CASE pile!

  6. Jan, this is exquisite! I just want to channel you all the time! I love the beautiful background that you've created for your trio of seashells, without needing the overwhelming DSP right behind them! So lovely!

    1. So glad you like it! So, I stamped the outline in Soft Suede. I used Blushing Bride for the more solid filler stamp but I did lightly run a cloth around the top so that there'd be more colour at the bottom of the shell. Then I used a blending brush to lightly sponge around the edge of the shell in Crumb Cake. I also think that popping them up on dimensionals gives them a subtle prominence they would lack if I'd adhered them straight onto the card front. Hope that helps. :-)
