Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Curvy Celebrations 2

Can you believe that it's almost December? To help you get in the mood, Stampin' Up! have a special release for you all. The Quite Curvy Variety bundle offers you many choices to expand your crafting repertoire, whether you're an old hand or just starting out.

You can have some or all of the variety bundle - but once you see it all, you'll want it all! There's the Curvy Christmas stamp set and the Classic Christmas DSP. These will be available until 4 January or while stocks last. The stamps in this set coordinate with the Curvy dies.

The Curvy dies also coordinate with the Quite Curvy stamp set. Quite Curvy and Curvy dies are an early release from the January-June Mini Catalogue. They're a great chance to get your hands on something new from the next catalogue.

The Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team has already hopped once with this wonderful bundle. Here's a reminder of the card I made with Curvy Christmas and the Curvy dies. If you missed it and would like to know more, you can see it here.

Since then, I've made a few more things with this bundle. Here's a couple of simple cards, one using Curvy Christmas and one with Quite Curvy and an ink-spritzed background. If you'd like to know more about them, you can see it here.

Today I'm sharing with you a birthday card made with the Quite Curvy set and Curvy dies.

I started by stamping two of the vine stamps from Quite Curvy. They're coloured using Stampin' Blends - Just Jade, Shaded Spruce and Granny Apple Green, then die cut using the Curvy dies. I've attached them at 180 degrees to each other, on a background embossed with the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder. I tucked in a couple of pieces of Just Jade Twill Ribbon that had been frayed at the ends.

I stamped three birds, coloured them in Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake and Granny Apple Green and die cut them. The sentiment  I've cut using the eyelet edged curved dies. It's lovely the way the die echoes the curve of the sentiment.

I added in a trio of Gilded Gems to finish off.

The Curvy Celebration set is so versatile it lets you make projects from simple to complex. Make sure you get your order in early, so you don't miss out.

Next up is the fabulous Lauren Alarid, aka The Crafty Peach.

  4. I came across one of your cards today because I did a "Google" search for the Curvy stamps and die sets. I fell in love with one of the cards you made and darted over to your blog here. I live in Michigan in the United States and about 3 months ago became a lover of Stampin Up everything. I do have a demonstrator that I order from, but love to look at ideas from wonderful, creative artists like you! I just ordered this stamp and die set today from my demonstrator. Thank you for such beautiful cards. I have looked at several of your creations and love, love every one of them. Look forward to seeing many of your older posts. You are a very gifted creator.

  5. Jan, I love your cards. Thanks for all the inspiration for the Curvy dies. I am trying to do that curvy banner with the holes on both edges. I can't figure out the placement of the die to get that look. How did you do that?

  6. Love all your samples of curvy die inspiration. Especially want to try that curvy banner with the holes on both edges. Can't figure out how to place the die on the paper to get that look. How did you do it?

    1. Hi Donna. It takes a little experimentation but the way I did it was this. You need a piece of card that is longer than you intend the finished banner to be. I stamped the sentiment then placed the die under it so that the curve of the words and the die matched. Once satisfied that they lined up nicely, I made the die cut. Then you take the die and move it around until you get the curve to match what you've already cut. It will overhang at one or other end. Because I like to be precise, once I had worked out where place the die for the curves to match up, I also checked how far apart the cut edge and the die were and made sure they were the same distance apart at each end. It's quite easy to be so worried about getting the curves lined up that you end up cutting and finding one end is much skinnier than the other if you don't do this. After you've done the second cut, flag the ends inwards. That disguises any illusion that the width at each end is different. Once you've given this a try, it will make much more sense. :-)
