The Paper Players 405 - Design Team Card

I enjoyed all the humorous cards submitted last week at The Paper Players. It was such pleasure seeing them all but much harder to choose someone to be Cut Above! Let's see what you all do with LeAnne's lovely colour challenge.

Of course, autumn is the first thing those colours brought to mind. The opening lines of  Keats' To Autumn, "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness," popped into my head and never left - which is why this card has such an autumnal look and feel. Blame the poet!

I began by white embossing the leaf outlines onto some shimmery white cardstock. Then I blended over it Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody and So Saffron. A quick spritz of water lifted some of the colour then I stamped over it using the small stamen stamp from Colorful Seasons. I like the way it looks likes seed heads blowing in the wind.

I blended together the three shades of ink on a scrap of card then stamped and cut out the solid leaf. The skeleton leaf, I cut from Mango Melody then sponged on some Pumpkin Pie.
Autumn is such a season of endings, with the promise of new beginnings, so to turn this into a sympathy card seemed apt.

Inspiration for this card also came from the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

LeAnne's colours can be used many ways and we look forward to seeing what you do with them.
Have a look at The Paper Players to see what the rest of the team have done, then why not join in?
