Male card CCMC310 and PPA416

A quite off-hand comment by one of my card class women about not often making male cards resonated with me - probably out of all proportion to how she meant it. But I realised that I shied away from cards the might suit men. My menfolk, not being either petrol heads, hunters or having a single drop of DIY in their DNA,  don't automatically scream that I should use 'male' stamp sets.

Even so, I took the self-imposed challenge using three sources of inspiration: the new Thoughtful Banners set I'd recently purchased, the sketch challenge at Pals Paper Arts and the colour challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.

As an aside, Tip Top Taupe always makes me smile because, in New Zealand, Tip Top is the leading brand of ice cream.

The marriage of these things lead to...

It's turned out quite well and I think that with different colours and bit of bling that it would make a pretty good girl card too.

Card: Dapper Denim, Mint Macaron, Whisper White
Stamps: Thoughtful Banners, Playful Backgrounds
Inks: Tip Top Taupe, Mint Macaron, Dapper Denim
Other: Banner punch, circle framelits, dimensionals, Dapper Denim enamel shape.

  1. Hey Jan! Love your colors and circles. Thanks for joining the Pals this week!

  2. Jan I just love the way you combined pattern and sentiments to convey the three circular elements of the card - great use of the sketch - and looks great using this week's colours! A perfect 'man' card without being overly masculine - very contemporary! Thanks for joining us over at Create With Connie and Mary this week!

    1. Thanks for such a thoughtful comment, Joanne!

  3. You did a wonderful job of combining the different patterns an incorporating the sentiments. You created a very handsome card. Thank you for stamping along with the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge

  4. I actually did LOL at your comment about the men in your life! Had to google the term petrol head, and found this hilarious! Your card is so clever in its arrangement - I love how you have used Thoughtful Banners with Playful Backgrounds for your sketch elements, and the colors suit it perfectly! Thank you for joining us at Create with Connie and Mary!

  5. Great card Jan! I love the way you've combined the challenges to come up with a great card that would be perfect for any man petrol head or not lol! Thanks for joining us at Create with Connie & Mary this week!

  6. Oh my goodness, such a perfect layout with a super duper clean and simple design. Love it! So happy you played along with PPA this week.

  7. What a cool, CAS card for a guy! I really like all the greetings from Thoughtful Banners combined in this way. Thanks for joining us at Create with Connie and Mary!

  8. What a wonderful combination of the two challenges you have. Love the fact you went for a masculine card too, not always easy to do! Great card! Thanks for playing along with Create with Connie and Mary this week!

  9. Oh, so fun! Love the "geometrics" of the images combined together! Thanks for playing long with the colo challenge this week on Create with Connie and Mary!

  10. What a great card! I love all the fun elements on this. That striped stamp is one of my favorites stamps. Thanks for playing along this week in the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!
