Gorgeously Made for Stampin' Fancy Friday

This month, the theme at Stampin' Fancy Friday is 'Gratitude'. We don't blog hop as such but the team at Stampin' Fancy Friday do a daily inspiration post on Instagram. The team at Stampin' Fancy Friday are all current or past members of Stampin' Up!'s Artisan Design Team, so it really is a great place to pick up ideas or recharge your creative mojo. Follow @stampinfancyfriday if you don't already. 😀

Today, I'm sharing my project which appeared on Instagram a few days ago. Regular readers will know that I have a real soft spot for the Gorgeously Made bundle, so I just couldn't help myself but to get it out again!

I enjoyed making this card so much that I made a video tutorial to share it with you. I hope you give it a go - it's much easier than it looks!

Gorgeously Made for As You See It 305

Time goes quickly and we're back around to the Recipe Challenge. For this challenge, all you need to do is create something that uses all of the ingredients on the recipe card. In this case a 'thank you' sentiment, some patterned paper, a circle of some sort, enamel dots, a die cut and shades of yellow.

I had a problem in that I don't use much patterned paper and the only patterned paper I had in yellow was Wild Wheat. I know some people mightn't think of it as yellow but when it's beside Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lolly, the 'yellowness' of it is enhanced and it's definitely a golden colour. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! It does look more yellow in real life, that's for sure!

I used some strips from my scrap box to create a striped card before die-cutting with the largest Stylish Shapes circle.

I die cut two of the foliage dies from Gorgeously Made, one in Wild Wheat and one in Pebbled Path. The label tag is from the same die set.

If you live in New Zealand and buy the Gorgeously Made bundle from me, you'll receive a tutorial package with exclusive projects created by me and by Joanne James aka The Crafty Owl, as well as access to our private Facebook Group. If you live in Europe or UK, you'll get the same deal from her. Details are here.

The Wild Wheat dots are a gorgeous golden shade of yellow and help to draw the eye to the sentiment.

We'd love to see what you make with these ingredients. Visit the As You See It page to see what the rest of the team have done and to link up your own entry. You can join in with us until Wednesday 23 August, 11.59pm PST.

Gorgeously Made for Colour INKspiration 149

Welcome to a new challenge at Colour INKspiration! This pretty, atmospheric palette was chosen for us by Crew Member, Lou Kitzelman.

If you haven't played with us before, we are a group of Stampin' Up Demonstrators from the South Pacific. Challenges are shown and entered via our Facebook Group page. If you don't belong, and would like to, click here. Don't forget to answer the three easy questions you'll be asked when you ask to join the group.

Each challenge, Top Picks and a winner are chosen by the crew and the winner offered a chance to Guest Design with us for a future challenge. We welcome  Ingrid Heijen-Hermens as Guest Designer for this challenge.

If you don't have an exact challenge colour, feel free to replace it with whatever you have that's closest, for example Highland Heather for Fresh Freesia. Black, White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and metallics are free colours, as are flesh toned Stampin' Blends.

I'm very taken with the Gorgeously Made bundle because I really love the beautiful foliage die cuts, the torn label die and the interesting edge dies - so basically all of it! And the stamped images and words are fabulous too. But as always when a set is part of a suite, sometimes we're reluctant to move away from those colours. Don't get me wrong - I love the vibrant colours of the DSP but a different set of colours sets a different mood, so I experimented with them for this challenge.

I took some DSP from a different suite - Earthen Elegance - for the background. I like the strong earthy tones of that suite too. After stamping the background text stamp in Fresh Freesia (another thing to love about the bundle), I added in a vellum die cut to help soften it down a bit.

I played around with some water-colouring and ink splattering too. In fact, a very good time was had just playing with this set and these colours. In fact, I enjoyed the playtime so much that I've made a video tutorial of it, which you can see here.

We'd love to have you join in the challenge with us. Visit the Colour INKspiration page to check out the album of Crew Cards for inspiration. You can also add your entry there. We all enjoy seeing what you do with our colour palettes, so join in!

If you live in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. I can help you with ideas, get you catalogues and provide you with Stampin' Up products. For the next two months, if you shop with me and purchase the Gorgeously Made bundle from me, as a special perk I'll send you  four exclusive tutorials. These tutorials are designed by me and my friend Joanne James, aka The Crafty Owl, from the UK. Similarly, if you live in Europe or the UK you'll get the same deal from her. You'll also be able to join our private Facebook group where you can ask questions, share your work and see even more inspiration with this bundle.

Gorgeously Made Tutorial Bundle now available

Hi everyone,

It's time for the second tutorial package from Join In with Joanne and Jan!

My friend Joanne James, aka The Crafty Owl, and I are working together to reward our customers with some extra special perks.

Every two months, Joanne and I will be putting together a set of four tutorials featuring a bundle or suite. Simply purchase the suite or bundle from us and we’ll email you the tutorials in PDF format for you to make. If you already have the suite or bundle, simply purchase something else of equivalent value and we’ll email the tutorial package to you.

The four tutorials (two from each of us) will really show you different ways to make the most of your purchase because you’ll get the benefit of both our ways of thinking and both our styles. There will be a range of project levels, from casual to avid and you won’t find these projects in any of our other social media platforms. We’ve designed them just for our customers.

In addition to the tutorials, you’ll also be offered access to an exclusive private Facebook Group where you’ll be able to share your projects, and ask us questions. You’ll also find little extras there from us like extra projects, tips or even the occasional video or Facebook Live. You just never know!

So there you have it. Two great reasons to shop with us: a package of four exclusive designs AND access to a private Facebook Group so you can pick our brains and share your work with us.

You can shop with me if you live in New Zealand.

You can shop with Joanne, The Crafty Owl, if you live in the United Kingdom.

For August and September, we're featuring the Gorgeously Made bundle.

Bundle $107.00

Add on Masterfully Made DSP $26.25

Gorgeously Made for AYSI 300

Welcome to the latest challenge at As You See It. This one is extra special as it's our 300th challenge so we're doing something a bit special this time around.  To celebrate reaching this milestone event, each member of the design team is choosing their favourite entry and giving it a prize.  We all do appreciate the many of you who choose to enter into our challenges, either regularly or occasionally.  You make it fun for us as well!

The favourites will receive goods from either Stampin' Up! or Clarity, so there's something extra to try for this time round. Regular players will know that we rotate round six types of challenge and this time, it's the turn of the Theme Challenge. The theme is adventure - whatever that means to you: travel, exploration, extreme sports, the great outdoors - it's how you see it.

Extreme sports and I are not on speaking terms, but travel and I are. So it seemed a good chance to scrapbook some of our many travel memories. Our trip to Canada and Alaska was an adventure for us as it was our first trip away from home that was not to Australia or one of the Pacific Islands. It involved such terrors as getting a US visa and switching flights in Singapore! All worth it as it was an exciting adventure to a lovely country - and good to have got it in before the world closed up shop in 2020.

I always liked the photos from our visit to Lake Maligne. It was a glorious day, the lake was gorgeous, and the surrounding glaciers were on full display. I'm not sure why it's called Lake Maligne as there was nothing malign about it, only tranquility and beauty.

An incidental moment of adventure for me was running into a former New Zealand Prime Minister in the doorway of the Ladies' Loos. Not something that happens every day, even in NZ!

When I'm scrapbooking I like to bleed the colour from the photos into the surround if I can. Some of the new blues from the colour revamp were great for this. I've used Blueberry Bushel, Azure Afternoon and Boho Blue in this layout. The Artistic Mix Decorative Masks were great for laying down a background. I also used the text stamp from Gorgeously made and some of the die cuts from the same bundle. I used the Alphabest set and punch for the main sentiment.

The tags with the place and date are from Tailor Made Tags and the string is one thread from the In Color Jute selection.

We'd love to see what you can come up with for this theme. Pop over to the As You See It page to see what the rest of the team have done and to link up your own entry. We'd love to be considering what you do for one of our six product prizes.

If you live in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. I can help you with ideas, get you catalogues and provide you with Stampin' Up products.

You can shop with me from anywhere in New Zealand by visiting my online store or by clicking on any of the items below.
