Crackle Paint for Retro Rubber 132 - Design Team Card

I hope everyone is still coping and smiling, at whatever stage of lockdown you are living with. The Retro Rubber Team is back with a new boredom buster challenge for you. This time it's a theme challenge: to use squares in your card. Of course, since this is Retro Rubber, you still need to use at least one stamp that's a year or more old and tell us the approximate age of it.

I really like the Crackle Paint background stamp (January 2019). I used Stamparatus to gold emboss it onto four squares of card: So Saffron, Blushing Bride, Pool Party, Sea Soft Foam. After cutting them each into four squares, I assembled them onto a larger square of Basic Black. Because of the Stamparatus, the pattern across the different pieces lined up perfectly.

Each of the patchwork Crackle Paint squares was then attached to a square card base in one of the four colours.

The sentiments are from Little Elephant (June 2018), stamped in Tuxedo Black and mounted on layering squares in black and gold.

We'd love to see how you incorporate squares into your projects as well as which of your favourite retro stamps you use. Pop over to the Retro Rubber Challenge site and see what the rest of the team have done. You can also link up your entry there.

Freshly Made Sketches 394

The sketch at Freshly Made Sketches gave me a chance to keep on exploring with my newest set, the To A Wild Rose bundle.

I like this kind of open-to-interpretation sketch and enjoyed playing around with it. In the last few days, I've used this rose as a two-step stamp, a three-step stamp, an outline and as a resist emboss design. This time, I used the outline stamps of the flower and leaves then coloured them with Stampin' Blends.

I'm loving the Crackle Paint background stamp. It gives such interesting texture to whatever it graces and works so well with copper foil too.

If you live in New Zealand and don't have a demonstrator, I'd love to be yours and help you with ideas and to supply you with Stampin' Up products. The Paper Players 434

It's sketch week at The Paper Players this week. I like sketch challenges and was looking for an excuse to use the Well Said bundle because it just hasn't seen enough action in the last month!

There are many die cut words to choose from but what I love the most is the die cut with three boughs of leaves, so I wanted to include them in this design.

I'm also very fond of using the Subtle embossing folder on foil because it gives such a lovely, faux ribbon effect.

If you live anywhere in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up demonstrator, I'd love to help you with ideas and Stampin' Up products. Please message me through my Facebook page, linked in the sidebar of this blog or leave a comment below.

Hand Stamped Sentiments 306

The colour challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments was just too pretty to pass up.

It's such a rich combination that I started to think I'd like to make something with a vintage feel. I started with the new Crackle Paint background stamp and lightly sponged the edges before stamping on the beautiful bouquet from Very Vintage. This set is a hostess set, so is available to party hostesses or individual customers where sales are over $350. I coloured the images with ink, a blender pen and some clear Wink of Stella.

The pretty little lacy edge is from the new Doily Builder thinlits. The pearls have been coloured with a Petal Pink Stampin' Blend.
