Forever Fern for CASology 388

I saw the current challenge at CASology. It made me really want to dig out one of favourite of all time sets, Forever Fern because I've often used the 'hello' stamp from it. Plus, I just haven't used it for a while and was missing it. 😀

I enjoyed making this card, especially the challenge of keeping it clean and simple. I realise that over the years, I've got a bit more layered in my crafting, so it was good to pare things back again.

I started by stamping the gorgeous DistINKtive leaf stamp in Just Jade, which I then lightly coloured with Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends. I stamped the berries in Flirty Flamingo and fussy cut them out and place them over the leaves. I added in some Soft Sea Foam splatters as well.

The sentiment is stamped in Shaded Spruce, cut using one of the dies from Tasteful Labels and popped on dimensionals. Three Champagne rhinestones complete the deal.

Modern Heart for CASology 360 Guest Design

Just before Christmas, I was delighted to be chosen as the winner at CASology with this card, using Friend Like You. As an added bonus, I was asked to be guest designer this week!

The cue card this week is CRYSTAL, which I'll admit did throw me a little!

So after dismissing crystal glasses, I got to thinking about the crystalline structure of this heart stamp from Modern Heart and decided to use that.

After dripping some diluted ink into the wet, embossed outline and letting it dry, I added some Wink of Stella for a bit more crystalline shine. Finally, I added a couple of rhinestone crystals to emphasise the sentiment.

I liked the idea so tried it out with a blue variation. This one is coloured with a mix of different blue Stampin' Blends. The rhinestones have been coloured with a Dark Night of Navy Stampin' Blend. It was hard to choose between them. Do you have a favourite?

I'll be really interested to see how other people have interpreted the cue word, CRYSTAL and look forward to seeing the entries.

Friend Like You for Casology 355

It's been a long time since I played at CASology. It's a challenge I admire because I like the extreme CAS-ness of the creations there.

I enjoyed the challenge of keeping the design very clean and very simple. It was also a chance to try out some more of my new Friend Like You set.

The stems are a mix of Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow, then I deepened the bottom with some touches of Mossy Meadow Stamp'n'Write. The flowers are a mix of Rich Razzleberry and Blackberry Bliss.

With this pretty spray of flowers, the sentiments and the matching dies it's quite possible that this set will be a new favourite!

Update: Delighted to be the winner at CASology!

Casology 330

It's been a while since I played at CASology but loved the idea of this week's cue: Bouquet.

The background is stamped using Playful Backgrounds. The bouquet is stamped and cut using Beautiful Bouquet and the matching dies, Bouquet Bunches. To add some brightness and cheer, I've used some of the current In Colours: Call Me Clover, Lovely Lipstick and Pineapple Punch.

The rhinestones have been coloured with a Stampin' Blend. The blooms and bow are popped up on dimensionals.
