Beach Day for The Paper Players 701

Thanks for joining us for a new challenge at The Paper Players.  Stef has chosen Beach Time as this week's theme challenge. I love the beach so I was happy!

There's so much to love at the beach: sitting in the sun, paddling, building sandcastles, digging holes, swimming and shell-hunting. I hope this birthday card brings all of them to mind!

I used the Beach Day stamps and dies to create the little beach scene and mounted it on a rectangle cut with one of the Everyday Details dies.

I embossed the card front with the Painted Texture embossing folder then used a blending brush to lightly sponge the bottom part with Pool Party ink to give the impression of the sea.

You can pop over to The Paper Players page to see what the rest of the design team have done and to add in your own entry. We'd love to see what you do with this theme!

  2. What a great beach scene you've created Jan! Love the umbrella and the cute sandcastles along with all the other iconic images and that fab embossed background! Your color palette is beautiful as well. I can imagine you're looking forward to sunnier days when you can head back to the beach and enjoy everything you love about it!

  4. What a perfect beach collage, Jan! I love the colors. The die cuts are arranged perfectly on the "frame". The Painted Texture embossing gives the illusion of water. What a great choice to use that folder!

  5. Another sweet beachy scene! I love how you added just a subtle amount of color with the blending brush...what a great technique! Something to look forward to in the coming days--beach time!

  6. I love this pink and green colour combo Jan - I don't think I'd have chosen it but I find myself totally drawn to it - the delicate pink and the deeper green work so well together. I love the beach collage with the embossed 'frame' too and the ombre colouring adds great depth and interest too. Fab!
