Cheerful Daisies for The Paper Players 700

Welcome to the latest challenge at The Paper Players. LeAnne has created a sketch for us to play with this week. Isn't it great? Lots of possibilities for this one!

Unusually for me, I started with the colours I wanted to use then looked for a set to go with it. After initially not being very impressed with this year's In Colors, I've ended up loving them! I wanted to use Pretty in Pink and Summer Splash. After looking over my current sets shelf, I settled on a long neglected set: Cheerful Daisies

The flowers represent the circular elements of the sketch. I used the Cheerful Daisies dies to cut several flowers of different sizes and some foliage, all in Basic White card. Then, using blending brushes, I coloured them with Pretty in Pink, Summer Splash and Daffodil Delight inks. After that, I layered them up to make each flower head.

The background is embossed with the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder, which had some splatters in Summer Splash added with the tiny splatter stamp from Spotlight on Nature.

The sentiment is stamped in Basic Gray. Both it, and the label, are from Cheerful Daisies. A trio of In Color Shimmer Gems finished it off.

You can pop over to The Paper Players page to see what the rest of the design team have done and to add in your own entry. We'd love to see what you do with this great sketch!

  6. You are the queen of background embossing Jan - I so often forgo this element, yet you use it to such great effect. Lovely to see those daisies too, which I haven't used in a while - and so perfect for the sketch!
