It's a quiet Easter Monday and, once again, I'm procrastinating about cleaning out the craft room by taking up another challenge. This time, it's the colour challenge at The Paper Players.
I had a made up trellis base on my desk, a spare made when I was experimenting with that style of card after seeing them pop up on the internet in the last month or so. I'd already embossed it with the Timber 3D embossing folder to make it look more like a trellis. It seemed too good to waste so I got out my neglected Quiet Meadow bundle.
The frond is die-cut from Soft Sea Foam, while the flowers were cut in Basic White and sponged with Soft Sea Foam and Blushing Bride (another impending retiree colour).
The sentiment is stamped in Sahara Sand and popped up on dimensionals. Finally, three Iridescent Rhinestones finished it all off. Quick and easy. 😀

So love this design, just as beautiful as the dark brown one you made, but these shades make it much more delicate.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ali. This is using up my prototype for the Early Espresso one - well, the frame is. I'm happy with how this turned out. Two different looks but using the same techniques. :-)
Deletejan, that background is fabulous and I love your soft, pastel wildflowers. Gorgeous card. So glad you shared it with us at the Paper Players this week

This is just lovely, Jan! What a cool technique! You may have pushed me over the edge to get those Quiet Meadow dies...I love the stamp set but didn't think I "needed" the dies! Your soft colors are so pretty against your trellis! Thanks for sharing this with us at the Players this week!
ReplyDeleteJan, This is such a lovely card design. I like how you added the wood texture to your trellis. Thabks for joining in with The Paper Players color challenge this week.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Jan - I like this as much as the previous version! You have nailed this card design! Thanks for playing with my pastels challenge over at The Paper Players this week!
