If you haven't played with us before, we are a group of Stampin' Up Demonstrators from the South Pacific. Challenges are shown and entered via our Facebook Group page. If you don't belong, and would like to, click here. Don't forget to answer the three easy questions you'll be asked when you ask to join the group.
Each challenge, Top Picks and a winner are chosen by the crew and the winner offered a chance to Guest Design with us for a future challenge. We welcome Yvonne Spikmans-Van Bruggen as our Guest Designer for this challenge.
If you don't have an exact challenge colour, feel free to replace it with whatever you have that's closest, for example Shaded Spruce for Garden Green. Black, White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and metallics are free colours, as are flesh toned Stampin' Blends.
Well, what to do? I thought maybe florals to begin with, then a graphic design but in the end, went for a birthday card using the Sale-a-Bration set, Adorable Owls. Of course, one of the pleasure of new things is to be able to use them with your existing stash - and if that new thing was free, even better! You can earn this stamp set free with a qualifying order of $110 or more until the end of February.
I stamped the flying owl, plus the one with the party hat, onto Shimmery White Card using StazOn ink so that I could watercolour them with ink and water painters. Then I fussy cut them. I only coloured the party hat on the second owl so it could be fussy cut out and added in.
Then I used the Ray of Light stamp in Blushing Bride and cut out a circle using Stylish Shapes dies to us as the background for the owl.
The Mint Macaron stars and dots in the background is a stamp from the new Greatest Journey set while the Garden Green stars are from the Cracker & Treat Box dies.
The sentiment is from the new Best Day set and is cut with more from the Stylish Shapes die set. A trio of Iridescent Rhinestones completed the card.
We'd love to have you join in the challenge with us. Visit the Colour INKspiration site to check out the album of Crew Cards for inspiration. You can also add your entry there. We all enjoy seeing what you do with our colour palettes, so join in!

This really is an "adorable" card Jan! Love all the different design elements! xxx
ReplyDeleteI really like the way you used the Ray of Light stamp to highlight the owl Jan - I'm glad I picked this up in the stamp sale before Christmas - this has given me the inspiration to get it out and ink it up!!
