Jar of Flowers for CI105

Welcome to a new challenge at Colour INKspiration! Our last colour challenge had a huge number of amazing entries, which we enjoyed looking at. We're hoping that this challenge is just as popular. I'm especially keen as I had the pleasure of choosing this inspiration picture.

If you haven't played with us before, we are a group of Stampin' Up Demonstrators from the South Pacific. Challenges are shown and entered via our Facebook Group page. If you don't belong, and would like to, click here. Don't forget to answer the two easy questions you'll be asked when you ask to join the group.

Each challenge, Top Picks and a winner are chosen by the crew and the winner offered a chance to Guest Design with us for a future challenge. This time, we have Tracy Held joining us as Guest Designer.

If you don't have an exact challenge colour, feel free to replace it with whatever you have that's closest. Black, White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and metallics are free colours, as are flesh toned Stampin' Blends.

The first freesias and daffodils are poking up their heads in my garden, so spring must be near although with yesterday's freezing weather, it was hard to tell! In the craft room, it was very spring-like with this colour palette and Jar of Flowers. Here's what I came up with....

I started by stamping the flower image three times in Tuxedo Black onto Very Vanilla and colouring with Stampin' Blends, I did it multiple times because I like to cut up the image to add in extra blooms and extra dimension. I also die cut some stems in Old Olive using the Sunflowers dies to flesh out the bouquet further.

I stamped the jar and stems onto Very Vanilla and used the Jar punch to punch it out, along with a jar shape in Vellum. I attached the Vellum jar over the top to create the illusion of milky glass.

The sentiment is from Best Year (one of the sweet surprises in the Annual Catalogue), punched with the  Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, then stamped over with the flowers image in Mango  Melody.

The embossing folder is my favourite thing from the July-December Mini Catalogue - Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder.

When you visit the Colour INKspiration site to enter, don't forget to check out the album of Crew Cards for further inspiration.

  1. This is so very pretty Jan - freesias are one of my favourite flowers! You are wearing me down with that embossing folder too; it looks lovely on this card - I think I am going to have to add to my next order!
