Rooted in Nature for Retro Rubber 152

Welcome to the latest challenge at Retro Rubber! This week, we have a sketch from our team member, Claire. The same rules as always apply to this challenge. The most important ones are that you must use at least one stamp that's more than a year old AND give us an indication of the age. That's because, at this challenge, we like to give you an excuse to dig out your older purchases.  The only other rules are to not enter this sketch challenge more than three times and to not link up to more than ten challenges in total.

At first, I was a bit stumped but then I decided that the trail of hearts in the sketch could become leaves - and that led me straight to one of my favourite sets of all time, Rooted in Nature.

One of the pleasures of a challenge like ours is that it gives you the perfect excuse to mix up old and new, thereby giving new life to both.

Rooted in Nature has been around since the Annual Catalogue released in 2018-19 but the gorgeous Forever Greenery DSP is from the most recent one. Yet they look made for each other. 😀

I stamped the log slice stamp in Crumb Cake, fussy cut it and sponged the edges before stamping the sentiment on it. The other leaves were stamped, and sponged. with Pretty Peacock, Shaded Spruce and Pear Pizzazz.

The Whisper White card front was embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder.

You can see what the rest of the team have done with this sketch and link up your entry by visiting the Retro Rubber Challenge site. We'd love to see what you can do and you have until 26 February to play along.

  1. Jan, I love the fabulous combination of DSP on your card, the leaf accents are beautiful and I love how you used the tree trunk image for the circle on your design.
The texture of that embossing folder looks amazing, I have this folder and I'm ashamed I don't use it enough, I will most definitely remedy that ASAP.
Stay healthy and safe, my friend.

  3. Everything about this is stunning Jan! I love your colour palette and all the texture. I'm also a big fan of sentiments in toning colours and it works so well here. Great way to use the sketch. Cx
