Butterfly Gala for Retro Rubber 133

This week at Retro Rubber Challenge, we welcome you to one everyone seems to enjoy - Anything Goes. Of course, since this is retro rubber, the requirement to use at least one stamp a year or more old, and to give an indication of its age, still stands.

For inspiration I used the sketch challenge at AAA Cards and included the optional twist of 'It Flies'.

One of my favourites from the January 2019 catalogue was Butterfly Gala. Another favourite, this time from the Annual Catalogue from June 2018, is Rooted in Nature. I was pleased to get both out and pair them up for this card.

I've masked off a circle and sponged it in Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green before stamping on the foliage. The butterfly has been stamped and coloured with Stampin' Blends in Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green before punching her out. She has a Daffodil Delight 'shadow' and is popped up on a mini-dimensional.

Another reason I enjoy Retro Rubber Challenges is because it gives us a chance to mix old and new. The lovely lacy edge in this card is from the 2020-21 Annual Catalogue pre-release, Ornate Garden. This is a die from the Ornate Borders set. Isn't it sweet?

We'd love to see what you do with your favourite retro stamps. Pop over to the Retro Rubber Challenge site and see what the rest of the team have done. You can also link up your entry there.
