The Paper Players 391 - Design Team Card

I'm excited for this week's challenge at The Paper Players because Tic-Tac-Toe Challenges happen less often - only when there's a fifth challenge day in a month. Joanne has put together this one for us and it's great - so many options! I'm playing the twine-masculine-bird line.

I was so late to the Wood Textures DSP party. I can't believe it's been available since the last catalogue and I've only had some for less than a fortnight! This is my second card this week using it as it was perfect for the masculine line in Joanne's challenge.

The bird dies in the Birds & Blooms set got me thinking of Father's Day, with the baby bird looking up adoringly at 'Dad'.

Pop over and see what the rest of the team have done with Joanne's TIc-Tac-Toe Challenge at The Paper Players

Here's a quick reminder of the rules at The Paper Players.

  2. I love this card, Jan! I'd not thought of the smaller bird being a baby bird (silly me) ... perfect for your card.

  3. Jan, I am in love with this masculine card. Your background and twine are wonderful and I have never seen this bird set look this good. Stunning card

  4. I love that you used the birds for a masculine card...they look perfect against the wood DSP! You always have the most clever ideas!

  5. Great masculine card!I love the wood background and twine!!!

  6. I am loving this Jan - those birds pair with the wood paper beautifully and I love the paper-pieced detail on your birds too. What a fabulous card! Glad your enjoying your Wood Textures paper - I've had some for ages and love it, but sometimes struggle to know how to use it so am always on the look out for great examples and this is definitely one. Thanks for rocking my board this week!

  7. You guys are going to have me hooked on Stampin Up... I just got my first order from Claire and I love them. And I love that wood patterned paper... might need some of that too! BTW... GREAT CARD.

    1. Thanks Elizabeth. Funny how SU does that. Once I started seeing it around, I was hooked too.

  8. Just like Elizabeth, I too got hooked, and your beautiful creations had a lot to do with that! I know I need that Wood DSP now! Hope you're having a great week ~ Hugs, Annie

  9. Hi Jan,

What a GREAT idea to place the bird on a woodgrain background. I love woodgrain - someone just gave me some 6x6 slices and I’m itching for ideas, so glad to see yours. Your father shall love this.

  10. Oh Jan, I just adore this gorgeous card! That woodgrain DSP is perfect for that pair of precious birds! I would love to receive this card! I think it goes either way! Just perfect, My Friend! I hope you are having a fantastic week! XX
