AYSI 174 - Design Team Card

Amanda has come up with a great challenge for the design team at As You See It - and you - this week.

For this card, I've borrowed not one but two things. First up, I borrowed a stamp set and dies from my friend and upline, Deana. I needed something with a magical theme for another design team and since I had nothing, she kindly lent me Magical Day and the dies that go with it.

While I was playing around with them, I recalled a gorgeous technique and card that I'd seen, made by fellow demonstrator, Jackie Noble. She showed it to us at a team training camp a couple of years ago but it stuck with me. Her card used a technique called retiform and used a slant bottomed panel. So I guess I've CASEd her card - but what is CASing but borrowing?

I enjoyed playing with it so much that I made another one using the unicorn stamp from the same set. I liked the unicorn panel but was less happy about how well the embossed sentiment came out, although it is fine in real life.

We'd love to see what you've borrowed! Link up and show us how you see this challenge.
Pop over the challenge site As You See It and see what the rest of the team have done.

If you live anywhere in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up demonstrator, I'd love to help you with ideas and Stampin' Up products. Please message me through my Facebook page, linked in the sidebar of this blog or leave a comment below.

And, of course, you can shop with me from anywhere in New Zealand by clicking the SHOP NOW button in the sidebar of this blog.

Note: The unicorn card used Rich Razzleberry and Pink Pirouette.

  1. These cards are so very clever Jan! I've never tried this technique but love the effect. A fun way to get the most from a loan item. I will have to put my thinking cap on for this challenge; a dangerous one though, since every time I borrow a stamp set I end up loving it so much I then go out and buy it!!!
