The Paper Players 362 - DT card

This week at The Paper Players, LeAnne has a CAS theme challenge to get our creative juices flowing.

Harvest time is autumn and also a time of taking stock and giving thanks, so that's the thinking behind my card. I was also keen to try out a new technique that I'd seen on Stampin' Artfully, the blog of the very talented Kim Jolley, about a different way to approach shaving foam backgrounds.

I was very happy with the background, made using Crushed Curry and Fresh Fig ink.

We would love to have you join us at The Paper Players this week, for our CAS Harvest challenge.

Here's a reminder of the few rules we have:
  1. Create a NEW paper-craft project specifically for this challenge.
  2. Upload your creation to your blog with a link back to us.
  3. Please provide a direct link to the post featuring your challenge entry.
  4. Please link your card to no more than four challenges, total. Entries linked to more than 4 challenges, including ours, will be deleted without notification.
  5. Have fun!
I'm also going to play along with the team at AAA Cards for their new autumn challenge.

Update: Delighted to be a Top 3 Pick at AAA Challenge 99

While I was making this card, I also had a bit of a play with the same layout and different colours for the challenge at InKspire Me.

This time, the background was made with tissue paper, stamped with the new Music background stamp in Early Espresso, scrunched and then lightly gold embossed.

Vanilla, Early Espresso and Gold are a favourite combination of mine, so it was hard to resist their challenge!

Here's the ingredients for both cards

Update: Delighted to have this card chosen as the Winner at Inkspire Me.

  1. These are absolutely gorgeous, Jan! I love the backgrounds! Did you do the shaving cream technique that Kim Jolley teaches or the old one where you lay your paper on top of the ink-swirled cream? Either way, it's stunning! And the leaf die cuts from Seasonal Layers always look great. Beautiful!
