So I just went with it. Blogland is currently full of autumn challenges - which I enjoy, as the colours are so rich - but here in New Zealand, it's spring. The colours suggested springtime and flowers and I do have a soft spot for masking and sponging, so here it is. Rather like the spring growth, I seem to have been a little exuberant myself.
Wink of Stella continues to be difficult to photograph!
For such a card that seems so exuberant, it's only one-step removed from being a one-layer card and easily could have been one.
Update: Delighted to be a Weekly Winner at CAS Colours and Sketches.
Ingredients
Card: Whisper White
Stamps: Wild About Flowers, Endless Birthday Wishes, Touches of Texture (dragonfly)
Inks: Melon Mambo, Emerald Envy, Pacific Point (the closest I have to Tempting Turqoise)
Other: Sponges, Clear Wink of Stella, Metallic enamel shapes, Stamp'n'write marker to partially colour the dragonfly.
I love how you've used the colours both as a subtle sponged background and brightly in the foreground. Very pretty card!
ReplyDeleteWonderful job with the colors! Love the scene slice! Thanks for playing along with us at CC&S!
ReplyDeleteSuper gorguss card and design, colour sponging is such a art, I really need to do so much more practise to make it as perfect as your work. I do like your touch a Stella.
ReplyDeleteIt's so beautiful! I think your ink blending is fab and the flowers are so pretty! Great work.
ReplyDeleteI like how the flowers and dragonfly extend from the sponged background. It's a fantastic card! Great job combining the challenges - thanks so much for making CC&S one of them! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how a colour challenge sticks in your head isn't it?! I love your sponged panel, it's gorgeous. Thanks for joining us at CAS Colours & Sketches this week. Liz x
