Friends are Like Seashells for FMS 535

Inspiration for today's card came from the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I'm making an effort to show some affection to some of my older sets. It's so easy to overlook old favourites in the flurry of a new catalogue, isn't it?

I turned to Friends are like Seashells and I was looking to make a masculine-friendly card with it. There are many things to love about this set of products but one of the best to my mind is the way you can stamp, cut and emboss the seashell images to get a realistic depth and texture.

And, of course, the Seashells embossing folder is a delight all by itself so I just had to use it for the background!

The sentiment is from Artistically Inked because I liked the strong, masculine lines of the sans-serif font.

I indulged in minimal embellishment, opting for three pieces of Faux Sea Glass. I did use my new Beautiful Shapes dies to create the circle for my beach scene - I liked the detailing at the edge.

I used the Frayed White Ribbon for the horizontal element. Not only does it add some texture, but once the ends were frayed, it had something of the look of a beach towel to it.

    1. Hi Laura. I stamped each shell in Soft Suede. Then I sponged the edge lightly with Crumb Cake.

  2. Beautiful Jan! The embossing folder alone is a standout, but the pop of aqua behind those stamped shells along with the seaglass add a fresh pop of colour amongst the neutrals. Just lovely!
