Queen Anne's Lace for The Paper Players 499

Today was cold, miserable and wintery. The jobs were done, the Design Team cards were done, classes were over... what to do? Break out a new stamp set from the box! Queen Anne's Lace is a pretty little floral set with a number of greetings. What better way to try it out than to use the current colour challenge at The Paper Players?

I usually like a stronger colour palette but these soft colours suited the delicate flowers of the Queen Anne's Lace. Maybe, somewhere in the world, you can find a soft yellow version. 😀

I used the new Tasteful Textiles embossing folder to add some texture and also some folds of the gorgeous white linen ribbon. The pearls were coloured with the dark Seaside Spray Stampin' Blend.

I hadn't used the Stitched So Sweetly dies very much before but I found today that they layer up very well to give some more oomph to the sentiment. I think I'll be using them more!

Update: Delighted to be a Cut Above at The Paper Players.

  1. Very pretty, Jan! I like that in the stamping world, you can make flowers any color you want! (I do happen to have a photo of some "normal" ones on my blog today!) These are beautiful and I especially like how you stamped them again on the blue diecut behind the sentiment! Thanks for sharing this with us this week and using my Paper Players colors!! Always a treat to have you play with us!

  3. Jan, what a wonderful use of this set. I love the soft background - it reminds me of a summer day in England as a child, lying among the flowers and looking up at the sky. thanks for conjuring up such a wonderful memory with your evocative card. So glad to see you in the gallery again this week
