I dug deep in my stash and found a packet of gold paper that I'd bought years ago at The Warehouse for a child's party but in it was a lovely piece of gold metallic paper with a kind of silk moire watermark pattern on it. It's just a lovely thing.
The trickiest part was to tie the bow with the metallic gold thread and to sew the gold bead onto the mother-of-pearl sequin. The metallic thread is notoriously unstable and slippery to work with and unravels as soon as you look at it. I've knotted the ends so that when it does unravel, it will make tiny tassels. I really like how this card has turned out. Like my Less is More card, this one is a congratulations card.

ReplyDeleteJan, your card is awesome with the gold accent! Thank you for celebrating with us at AAA Cards and Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty with the gold! This also qualifies for the Muse Challenge #99 [http://musecardclub.blogspot.com/2015/01/muse-challenge-99.html] - you used the same die as I did! -Thanks for joining in at AAA!
ReplyDeleteThanks Vicky. I haven't played at Muse before. Usually I don't enter a card in multiple challenges although I have here - that way, I have more excuses to make more cards. :-)
