Save the date for Stamp Camp!

The next Creativity Abounds Virtual Stamp Camp is happening on June 28-29, so save the date! Even if you can't make it on the exact day, you'll still get access to the Live presentations, as well entry to the exclusive Facebook Group as well as all the tutorials and kits.

This time, the international crew have chosen as the featured products the fun new Celebratory Sips Suite. This suite is an online exclusive and will be available from 6 May.

Introducing Celebratory Sips

This fun suite includes:
  • The Cheers & Sips bundle
  • Glass and Gardens Embossing folders
  • Celebratory Sips 12x12 DSP
  • Gold Striped 1cm mesh ribbon
  • Holographic Resin Dots
The retail price for this suite is $166.50 (plus postage) in New Zealand.
(See note below about Stampin' Rewards.)

How do I get a Virtual Stamp Camp Invite?

Simply purchase the featured suite from a demonstrator in your country. In New Zealand, that's me.

If you live somewhere else and are interested in joining in the Virtual Stamp Camp, message me and I can put you in touch with  the right person in the team to help you.

What do I get from Stamp Camp?

Aside from the fun of joining in crafting with people from all over the world, the biggest thing you get is INSPIRATION in the form of tutorials and live presentations.

How often have you invested in a suite or bundle, made a handful of things then run out of ideas? That won't happen with Celebratory Sips because this is what Stamp Camp gets you:

  1. Make and Takes

In the week before Stamp Camp, you'll receive a tutorial package that will have both PDF and Video instructions for thirteen different projects using the Featured Products.

For these projects, you'll also receive a kit for each project containing all you need for each project (excluding the products you have purchased).

Note: If you cannot pick up the kits, there may be a small charge of $11.50 for posting them out to you, with a rural delivery surcharge if applicable.

    2. Bonus Projects

During the Virtual Stamp Camp, each of our thirteen team members will present as a Facebook Live an additional project, created just for the camp. Cutting instructions will be available for you so you can create these projects if you wish. They will be saved to YouTube so the presentations will be available to you to rewatch at your leisure.

That makes a total of 26 projects for your new suite. Many of the ideas, you'll be able to apply to other things in your craft room - so really, INSPIRATION is what the camp offers you.

    3. Interaction with people around the world

During the weekend, you'll get the chance to share what you've made to the private Stamp Camp Facebook page. There will be challenges to enter if you want, a Crafternoon Tea where you can chat with the team and lots of chances to share with other crafters.

What do I do if I want to join in?

If you live in New Zealand, simply order the suite from me as soon as it becomes available on 6 May.

Tick the option to allow contact so that I can send you information and the make and take kits before the camp begins. I will contact you to let you know I've got you on the Stamp Camp list and to confirm delivery details for the kits. If you don't hear from me, message me in case something's gone wrong. 😀

You should order it early because sometimes things sell out. You also need to make sure your order has time to arrive before Stamp Camp starts. The last day to get your invite to Stamp Camp from me is 1 June so make sure you've ordered by then.

What if I already have the suite?

If you already have the suite, make an order to the same value through me. Message or email me to let me know that is what you have done so I can add you to the Stamp Camp invite list.

What about Stampin' Up! Rewards?

Please note that while your purchase of the featured Stamp Camp products will earn you Stampin' Rewards (as long as you have opted into the programme) you cannot use already earned rewards to purchase the Celebratory Sips suite

Using Stampin' Rewards to purchase the Celebratory Sips suite will indicate that you do not wish to participate in Stamp Camp. Your order can include extra items which you can purchase with your rewards.

You can stamp with me, and shop with me, from anywhere in New Zealand. Click here.

Simply Zinnia for As You See It 319

Welcome to the latest challenge at As You See It. The final challenge type in our 6 challenge rotation is the Speed Stamping Challenge. You'll either love or hate it but I love it because it forces me to be creative under pressure.

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to create a new project in ten minutes or less on the theme of Spring Flowers.

Don't panic at the thought of a ten minute make. Here's the rules:
  • Thinking time doesn't count
  • Gathering your supplies doesn't count - eg putting out your inks and dies, blocking the stamps, putting the card on the desk.
  • Clean up time doesn't count either - thankfully!
BUT
  • The moment you cut, ink, emboss - then the time has to start.
In a challenge like this, pretty DSP can really be your friend by doing all the heavy lifting. I've used the
Flowering Zinnias DSP from the Online Exclusives.

This card took me 7 minutes 21 seconds to complete - including an equipment malfunction. You can watch every adrenalin laden moment of that in the video below!

Make sure you visit the As You See It page to see what the rest of the Design Team have done in their ten minutes - and to link up your own entry.

If you live in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. I can help you with ideas, get you catalogues and provide you with Stampin' Up products. You can leave a message in the comments or contact me using any of the methods listed in the Contact Me tab at the top of the page.

You can shop with me from anywhere in New Zealand here.

Magnolia Mood for Colour INKspiration 160

Welcome to the latest challenge at Colour INKspiration. This soft and dreamy palette was chosen for us by Crew Member and former SU Artisan, Vicki Boucher. So pretty, isn't it?

If you haven't played with us before, we are a group of Stampin' Up Demonstrators from the South Pacific. Challenges are shown and entered via our Facebook Group page. If you don't belong, and would like to, click here. Don't forget to answer the three easy questions you'll be asked when you ask to join the group.

Each challenge, Top Picks and a winner are chosen by the crew and the winner offered a chance to Guest Design with us for a future challenge. We welcome Fiona Rosario as out Guest Designer for this challenge. This challenge is open for two weeks and closes Monday 11 March, 7pm AEST.

If you don't have an exact challenge colour, feel free to replace it with whatever you have that's closest, for example Boho Blue for Balmy Blue. Black, White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, and metallics are free colours, as are flesh toned Stampin' Blends.

Having recently received the new Magnolia Mood bundle as part of my Demonstrator pre-order for the new March Online Exclusives, I thought that the soft colours would suit for a first play with it.

I love Distinktive stamps - that's the ones with the shaded lines that create an almost lithographic effect. The shading from the stamping makes it easy to add colour and additional shading with Stampin' Blends too.

The Perennial Postage dies make for an interesting border too. I think it  adds to that slightly vintage effect in this card.

You can see how I made it in this tutorial.

You can see what the rest of the Design Team have done with these colours in the Crew Inspiration Album on the Colour INKspiration Challenge Facebook page.

You can shop with me from anywhere in New Zealand by clicking here
By shopping with me, you can also earn additional free gifts two ways.

Free Gift 1
Orders over $90 will receive, as a free gift, the latest Creativity Abounds Tutorial Bundle. This bundle of 13 PDF tutorials is on the theme of Fun Folds.

Here's a peek at the whole tutorial package.

Free Gift 2
Purchase either the Gorgeous Garden dies or the Hooray for Surprises bundle from me and you'll receive FOUR PDF Join in with Joanne and Jan tutorials matching the purchase: two by me and two by UK Demonstrator Joanne James aka The Crafty Owl.

Notes of Nature for Stampin' Fancy Friday

This month, the theme at Stampin' Fancy Friday is 'Something Blue'. With so many gorgeous blues in the Stampin' Up! stable, this is a great challenge - especially since blue is my favourite colour.

We don't blog hop as such but the team at Stampin' Fancy Friday do a daily inspiration post on Instagram. The team at Stampin' Fancy Friday are all current or past members of Stampin' Up!'s Artisan Design Team, so it really is a great place to pick up ideas or recharge your creative mojo. Follow @stampinfancyfriday if you don't already. 😀

I love to create inky backgrounds, so enjoyed using Balmy Blue, Azure Afternoon and Blueberry Bushel with a hint of Boho Blue for this one, along with my favourite bundle - Notes of Nature.

Grab a cup of coffee and watch how I made it, then give it a go yourself. I'd love to see how it turns out!

And don't forget to follow @stampinfancyfriday on Instagram to see more blue-inspired inspiration this month.

You can shop with me from anywhere in New Zealand by clicking here

Orders placed with me can earn free tutorials.
  • Any order of $90 or more will receive the Creativity Abounds Tutorial Bundle, with 13 projects, as a thank you gift.

Easy Elegance with Layered Florals Embossing Folder

I'm having a lot of fun playing with the Layered Florals 3D embossing folder. The gorgeous pattern and the deep impression it gives create all sorts of opportunities to play around with it.

You can see one of those experiments here.

If you're interested in seeing how I made this card, you can view the tutorial below. If you make one, or CASE one, I'd love to see it.

Around the World on Wednesday January 2024

Welcome to a new hop with the crew at Around the World on Wednesday. On the second Wednesday of each month, the team put together a thematic hop to give you some inspiration for your own crafting. We love it when you try out something new or CAS(E) one of our projects. The team is truly international, with members from each time zone of the world that Stampin' Up! operates. You're with me, in New Zealand - the first place in the Stampin' Up! world to change the date. 😀

This month, we have a Sketch Challenge for you. I love a sketch challenge - they're my favourite kind.

The sketch was a great way to try out one of my new pre-order purchases from the January-April 2024 Mini Catalogue. This gorgeous Perennial Lavender suite has it all: two stamp bundles, DSP and fabulous embellishments. I didn't mean to buy it all - it just sort of ended up in my cart bit by bit. 😀

Of course, you don't HAVE to have it all. You can choose select items.
Anyway, here's my first play around with it, in response to the challenge sketch.

The embossing folder that I used was the Exposed Brick 3D Folder, one of my favourites.

To create the flowers, I die cut the stems from Basic White card then coloured them with Stampin' Blends, in a mix of Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and the tiniest touches of Blackberry Bliss (light).

Aren't the embellishments wonderful? They're the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems from the suite.

You can see how it all came together in this tutorial.

I think this is a suite you'll be seeing a lot of in the coming months! It's a delight.

Next up on the hop is the wonderful Leonie Stuart from Australia who will show you another way to use the sketch.

Orders over $90 will receive, as a free gift, the latest Creativity Abounds Tutorial Bundle. This bundle of 13 PDF tutorials is on the theme of Birthdays.

Nature's Sweetness - Sneak Peek Tutorial

I've been experimenting with the new Nature's Sweetness suite from the soon-to-be-available January-April 2024 Mini-Catalogue.

It's been a pleasure to play around with, not only because it's just a beautiful suite, but also because it's the focus for the Creativity Abounds Virtual Stamp Camp in February. I've made a few lovely samples with it, ready to put into the tutorial bundle and for my Facebook Live project during Stamp Camp itself.

So I'm sharing this one with you today as a bit of a teaser. It's a great technique for using up scraps and works well with any bits of paper you've got in the scrap bin.

I hope you enjoy the tutorial. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or if you'd like some more information about the upcoming Stamp Camp.

Happy New Year and Happy Stamping!

Artistically Inked for Creativity Abounds

Welcome to the latest hop with the Creativity Abounds team! We're a group of demonstrators from around the world who come together to share ideas and inspiration with you.

On the third Wednesday of the month (or Thursday if you are in the South Pacific), we hop to share some inspiration with you on a particular theme or set. This month, we're featuring Birthdays.

I've created one project to share with you today - and a second one as part of the Creativity Abounds Tutorial Bundle for December. This 13 tutorial bundle is free from me with a qualifying purchase of $90 or more. If you live somewhere other than New Zealand and purchase from a team member there, you'll receive the tutorial bundle from them.

One of my favourite sets is Artistically Inked, especially when paired up with the coordinating Chic dies. I love the useful sentiments and pretty images. You'll see from my two projects that it offers an  array of different looks too. The project I'm sharing with you today has a very vintage look, while you'll see from the sneak peek below that my tutorial bundle project is bright and clean.

For this card you will need:
  • Blackberry Bliss 21cm x 14.8cm, scored at 10.5cm (8 1/2" x 5 1/4", scored at 4 1/4")
  • Moody Mauve 10cm x 14.3cm (4" x 5 1/4")
  • Very Vanilla for card front 9.5cm x13.8cm (3 3/4" x 5")
  • Very Vanilla for sentiment 10cm x 2.5cm
  • Very Vanilla for stamping
  • Old Olive
  • Vellum
  • Moody Mauve for inside 10cm x 14.3cm (4" x 5 1/4")
  • Very Vanilla for inside 9.5 x 13.8cm (3 3/4" x 5")
  1. Fold and burnish the Blackberry Bliss along the score line.
  2. Adhere one of the pieces of Moody Mauve to the card front at an angle so that all four points touch the edge of the card base (or as near as possible).
  3. Take the large leaf die from the Artistic dies and cut one from the Old Olive. Set aside.
  4. Cut a 9cm circle (3 1/2" circle) from the vellum. Emboss with the Timeworn Type embossing folder (or one of your choice). Set aside.
  5. Stamp one large flower blob in Blackberry Bliss on the Very Vanilla. Stamp 2 of the larger roses in Moody Mauve. Die cut and set aside.
  6. Stamp the 'Happy Birthday' in Blackberry Bliss on the sentiment Very Vanilla. Die cut with label from Labels Aglow (or of your choice) and set aside.
  7. You are now ready to create the background pattern for the card front. Take the piece of Very Vanilla for the card front.
    • Using the large ink blot stamp, stamp randomly all over the card front in Crumb Cake ink.
    • Take the rose shaped flower and stamp 3 or 4 times randomly over the card front in Blackberry Bliss. Don't stamp them too close together as you need room for the leaves.
    • Take the double leaf stamp and using Old Olive ink, stamp in some leaves. Make sure some of them go off the edge of the page.
    • Add in some of the small rose shaped stamp in Moody Mauve to fill gaps and add colour to the edges.
    • Take a blending brush and add a light wash of Crumb Cake around the edge to give a vignette effect
    • Adhere this panel to the card front taking care to keep it square with the edges of the card.
  8. Adhere the embossed vellum circle to the lower left side of the card front.
  9. Arrange the three stamped flowers, with the largest Blackberry Bliss one on partly on top of,and between, the two Moody Mauve flowers. When you are satisfied with their placement, attach with dimensionals. The large flower, as it overlaps the two smaller ones, will not need as many dimensionals as the overlap can be adhered with tape or glue instead. It may need support in the gap between flowers however, depending on how you've arranged them.
  10. Take the die cut spray of leaves and cut them into pairs and singles. Tuck them in around the flowers. You can attach them with glue, tape or glue dots. If there is a dimensional in the way, you can cut the unseen part of the leaf off to let it fit in.
  11. Adhere the sentiment to the cluster. It will be glued in the centre where it is over the raised flowers. It might need a dimensional at the ends if there is a big overhang.
  12. Add three Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels (or other embellishments of choice)
  13. Stamp the inside white piece as desired, mat to the second piece of Moody Mauve and adhere to the inside of the card.

If the written instructions are not your thing, then you're welcome to watch the video tutorial instead.

Here's a sneak peek of the project I've made to be part of the Creativity Abounds December Tutorial package.
Remember, it's available from me free with any purchase of $90 or more. If you don't live in New Zealand and can't purchase from me, you will receive the package if you purchase from a team member who is operating in your country. I'm happy to put you in touch with them.

Here's a sneak peek of the whole tutorial package

Magical Meadow for Stampin' Fancy Friday

This month, the theme at Stampin' Fancy Friday is 'Over the Top Christmas'. 😀

I went 'over the top' on this vintage style Christmas card, made using the Magical Meadow bundle.

I threw a lot of different things at this OTT creation: there's texture embossing, sponging, splattering, gilding, die cuts, specialty paper, heat embossing... the whole kit and caboodle.

You can see how I did it here. Why not pour yourself a coffee and strap in for the ride?

If you decide to make one, or something similar, I'd love to see how it turns out. 😀

If you live in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. I can help you with ideas, get you catalogues and provide you with Stampin' Up products. Today, I'm sharing my project which appeared on Instagram a few days ago. Regular readers will know that I have a real soft spot for the Gorgeously Made bundle, so I just couldn't help myself but to get it out again!

I enjoyed making this card so much that I made a video tutorial to share it with you. I hope you give it a go - it's much easier than it looks!

Joy of Noel for Creativity Abounds

Welcome to the latest hop with the Creativity Abounds team! We're a group of demonstrators from around the world who come together to share ideas and inspiration with you.

On the third Wednesday of the month (third Thursday if you're in New Zealand), we hop to share some inspiration with you on a particular theme or set. This month, we're featuring projects from the September-December Mini Catalogue.

My favourite bundle from the  catalogue is Joy of Noel, so I've created one project to share with you today - and a second one as part of the Creativity Abounds Tutorial Bundle for October. This 13 tutorial bundle is free from me with a qualifying purchase of $90 or more.

I've gone full-on traditional for this one: gold, red, green, pine needles. 😀

Despite the opulent appearance, this card is actually very simple to make.

Here's what you need.
  • Joy of Noel bundle
  • Deckled Circle dies (or similar)
  • Inks: Cherry Cobbler, Tuxedo Black, Versamark
  • Stampin' Blends: Cherry Cobbler, Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce
  • Gold embossing powder and heat tool
  • Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder
  • Brushed Metallic Adhesive dots
Cherry Cobbler
     Card base 21cm x 14.8, scored at 10.5cm (8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4")
Basic White
    2 pieces 10cm x 14.3cm (4" x 5 1/4")
    1 piece 8cm x 8cm (3 1/4" x 3 1/4")
    1 piece 8cm x 10 cm (3 1/4" x 4")
Gold Foil
    4.5cm x 14.3cm (1 3/4" x 5 1/4")
Granny Apple Green
    6cm x 12cm (2 1/2" x 5")
Shaded Spruce
     6cm x 4cm (2 1/2" x 1 3/4")

Then you can either watch the video tutorial

or follow along here.
  1. Fold and burnish the Cherry Cobbler base
  2. Adhere the gold foil strip to one of the large pieces of Basic White, about 5mm (1/4") from the left hand edge.
  3. Run this piece through your Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine using the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder. Adhere to the front of the card base.
  4. Using Tuxedo Black ink, stamp the large floral spray onto the smaller rectangle of Basic White. Colour using Stampin' Blends (or your chosen colouring medium) and die cut out.
  5. Using Cherry Cobbler ink, stamp the NOEL centrally on the Basic White square. Then, using Versamark, stamp the 'Joyous' over the NOEL and gold emboss.
  6. Cut the Joyous NOEL sentiment out using the Deckled Circle die that is sixth from the centre.
  7. From the Granny Apple Green piece, die cut three pine needle shapes
  8. From the Shaded Spruce piece, cut 5 small sprigs using the sprig die.
  9. Adhere the coloured in Christmas spray on a slight angle on the left hand side of the card front, then arrange the pine needles and sprigs in a symmetrical and pleasing manner. Make sure they can still be seen when the  NOEL circle is added. When you are happy with the arrangement, adhere them to the card front.
  10. Add the sentiment circle using dimensionals.
  11. Add three gold Brushed Metallic Adhesive dots to complete.
  12. Decorate the second large rectangle of Basic White as desired and adhere to the inside of the card.
Here's a sneak peek at what's in this month's tutorial bundle.

And here's a closer peek at the card I've made that's part of the Creativity Abounds October Tutorial Bundle.

You can shop with me from anywhere in New Zealand by clicking here. Don't forget if you purchase from me, you'll receive the thirteen tutorials in the Creativity Abounds Tutorial Bundle as a free gift.

This weekend is also the Creativity Abounds On line Winter Meadow Stamp Camp. It's still not too late to buy the Winter Meadow bundle and get your exclusive invite to the Camp, although you might have to make your projects after the event. If you missed out this time, we'll be holding another Stamp Camp early in 2024, so watch out for details closer to the time. 😀
